Chapter 11: Extra Chapter alternate ending : Dalton's ending

Years of waiting in the Drum Kingdom now known as the Sakura Kingdom, Dalton has gone through lots of tough times now that he is titled as the new King of Drum Island. He works very hard to build the Kingdom from a start, and the people love him for become a great King for them. Right now, he's working at his desk to file up some papers. Yes, he's tired of working behind a desk and misses the action when he's battling in front of the line. But he's glad that his Kingdom is peaceful even though some pirates trying to take over their island, Dalton's there to save everyone.

He looked out the window and saw the same snow falling just like any other day. He sighs and leans back on his chair "…what are you doing right now?" he said and wondering what could possibly (y/n) doing right now. He look at the feather necklace that he always kept and still could feel the same warmth through it. sometimes the light slowly dims because probably (y/n) has been through a rough battle, when that happens he got worried and prays for her safety. He keeps hearing stories about her and the Straw Hat pirates' adventure from everywhere. She has gotten stronger than the last time he saw her.

"…still waiting for her, eh?"

Dalton turned to see Dr. Kureha leaning on the door frame with alcohol in her hand "yeah, I did say I'll ask her again. I won't give up" he looked back out the window "somewhere out there, she's fighting very hard"

Dr. Kureha was impressed by his patient "what if she already has a man? What would you do?"

"then I'll accept it like a man"

"heh, our King is crazy in love with a pirate" Dr. Kureha laughs "oh that reminds me, a pirate just been spotted recently in a village" she said.

"what?! Where are they?!" Dalton stand up from his chair.

"no, just one pirate alone"

Dalton confused by her information, Dr. Kureha told him the pirate last saw in Big Horn village where Dalton used to live. Dalton quickly grab his weapon and prepared to meet this pirate by himself.

While Dalton was on his way by riding a horse to see this pirate, he did a little research and asked his men. Is the pirate bad? What did the pirate do? Did they hurt his people and asking for treasure like any other pirate? Strangely, this pirate has not done any of that, which makes Dalton got more curious. He speeds up and tried to go to the village as quickly as possible.

Dalton finally arrived at Big Horn village, the people there greets him full of warmth. He looked around and strangely nothing has happened nor he saw the pirate. So he asked one of the villagers where's the pirate that has been rumored about. One of the villagers said the pirate just left a while ago, but the pirate did visit Dalton's old home.

When Dalton opened the door of his house… there's no one inside. And the furniture hasn't changed, except the chair from the dining table. it looks like someone just sat here not long ago. When he checked, he found something on the dining table. he recognized that object clearly… it was a feather emerging a warm light. When he picked it up he pulled out the feather on his necklace as well. Both of them are the same feather, Dalton sweat-dropped and walking out from his house.

He turned to one of these villagers and asked what was the pirate looked like. The villager said the pirate was a woman and somehow looked familiar. Dalton widened his eyes and grabbed him in the shoulder "w-where is that woman right now?!" he asked.

Unfortunately, he didn't know where that pirate went. Dalton thought maybe the pirate was still around the village area. But then, one of Dalton's men looking for him and informed him that a pirate is heading toward the castle. After that, Dalton grabbed his horse and went back to the castle as fast as he can.

On his way, all he could think about was only one person in his mind 'please! Please be her!!' he thought.

Finally, Dalton returned to his castle and look around inside. He was running breathless and search every room. none of them showing any sign from this pirate. Lastly, he went back to his office and when he opens it… all he saw is Dr. Kureha is leaning on a desk. She looked at him with a serious expression "…you're too late" she said. Dalton widened his eyes and was shocked when he hears the news.

"that pirate already left this island" Dr. Kureha said as she drink her alcohol.

"that's impossible—"

"Dr. Kureha, that's not the line. You're supposed to say 'turn around!" said a woman's voice.

"hehe, you're the one who said that you wanted to surprised him, girl"

Dalton was confused by the situation and turned around. He was shocked once more to see the familiar figure walking toward him. The woman he has been waiting for years "yes, but look at him now. He froze solid" said (y/n).

"…(y/n)?" Dalton called her name, it's been a long time he spoke that name.

(y/n) looked at his face to face and smiled at him "it's been a long time, Dalton. Or should I call you—" she looked at him up and down "King Dalton" she gives a little bow toward him.

Dalton feels a little odd when (y/n) called him that, but he told her to raise her head as they facing each other again. he looked at (y/n) closely and thought that she has grown into a more beautiful woman. She looked stronger too "…you're here. Really right in front me" he said as trying to convince himself that the woman in front of him is not an illusion.

"I'll give you two some privacy" said Dr. Kureha and leave the room.

Once again, there are only two of them in a room. (y/n) stepped in front of Dalton and reach out her hand. Dalton thought she was going to caress his cheek but instead, she's pinching his cheek. Dalton screaming in pain and (y/n) just laughs "how's that for real? Is it hurt?" she let him go. Dalton rubbed his cheek and smiled at her "yeah, it hurts" he said.

"Good!" (y/n) smiled back.

(y/n) tip-toed and wrapped her arms around Dalton's neck "I've missed you" she said with a gentle voice.

It feels like Dalton wanted to cry out loud, he can't stop his tears that he finally got to see her again. he wrapped his big muscular arms around (y/n) and hugs her back "I missed you too". He misses everything about her.

Then he let her go, (y/n) noticed the feather necklace on Dalton "you still have it?" she asked.

Dalton smiled and pull out the necklace "I've always kept this so I could check up on you. I never want to use it because this is the only thing I have to remind me of you"

"Dalton…"

"now, I have become the King of this country just like you said. I worked hard to build this Kingdom from one"

"I've seen the villages, everything looked so much more glorious than I remember. And you did all of that… for me?"

Dalton smiled and nodded "I want to show you that this is the happiness that I want to give it for you. A glorious and peaceful Kingdom that you deserve" he grabs (y/n)'s hand and hold it firmly "and I will ask you one more time, Labelle D. (y/n)—"

Dalton kneels on one knee and keeps holding (y/n) hands, his gaze never leaves her eyes "will you do the honor of becoming the Queen of Sakura Kingdom and stay by my side?" he proposed.

(y/n) widened her eyes and didn't expect the direct proposal, she look at Dalton's face, waiting for her answer. She grip his hands tightly "I do!!" she cried and tried to hold back her tears.

Dalton's face lit up and couldn't believe that (y/n) finally accepted her proposal. He picked her up in the air for a spin and embraced her tightly "thank you! From now on, I'll give you all the happiness and love you deserve. With me by your side, you'll never be alone ever again"

(y/n) nodded in happiness "and I'll always be by your side too. Forever and ever!"

"WOOHOO!! CONGRATULATION KING DALTON!!" a group of people cheered.

Both of them turned to see Dalton's men and a bunch of doctors cheering for them. They give their loudest applause and cheers. "ENOUGH! NOW GO BACK TO YOUR STATIONS!!" Dr. Kureha scolds as she throwing knives in their direction. Everyone runs in panic and leave. Dr. Kureha sighed and walking toward the new couple "so both of you are officially a couple and engaged. So many surprises in one day, how's that?" she laughs. Even Dr. Kureha congratulate them and decided to throw a celebration party for them.

Thus, that night everyone has been invited to the castle for the engagement celebration. Everyone brought food, presents, and congratulate the couple directly. They looked very happy, all they could hear is cheering and everyone enjoying the party. Dalton is sitting in his chair with (y/n) next to him, he looks at everyone's happy faces and he's smiled at them as well, then he felt something leaning on his shoulder. He turned to see (y/n) leaning on him and look at her smiling face "does this please you?" he asked.

(y/n) chuckled "very much. these people loved you very much, Dalton" she looked at everyone partying "it reminds me back at the ship, we used to party like this as well"

"your friends… do they mind your decision to stay here?"

"not at all. I have talked with them and they understand"

"then we should definitely invite them to our wedding soon. I'm looking forward to meeting them again"

After a while and lots of booze, (y/n) finally tired celebrating and Dalton noticed that she's exhausted. He thought she must travel far to arrive here. So Dalton picked her up in his arms and excused himself from the party. Even the King went to get some rest ahead, the party still going until midnight. Dalton decided to take (y/n) to his room so she could rest there. When they arrived, he carefully lay her on his bed. He smiled at her and lean down to give a gentle kiss on her forehead. When he's about to leave the room, a voice stopped him "…you're not staying?"

Dalton turned to see (y/n) already opened her eyes "I thought you're tired, so I bring you to my room so you could rest" he said.

(y/n) sat on the edge of the bed and stretch out her arms "a little, but I thought we could spend the night together by pretending to be tired. I didn't expect you would carry me straight to your room" she grins teasingly.

"I've been told that so many times" she shrugs "you're not going to sleep in your room?"

"no, you can use it. I'll be sleeping in another room"

After months of preparation, the anticipated day has finally arrived. The day of Dalton and (y/n)'s wedding. Everyone was excited and attended Dalton's wedding, even the Straw Hat pirates and Nefeltari Vivi are invited to their wedding. The crew are excited about the wedding and meeting their old friends again. the time of the ceremony has come and everyone is already in their place. Dalton is standing straight and eager to see (y/n).

Finally, the door is opened and everyone turned to see the bride walking in. everyone is amazed and their jaws dropped the moment they saw (y/n) in her wedding dress. Especially Dalton, his heart just skipped a beat and forgot to breathe for a second there.

The moment (y/n) standing right in front of him, Dalton feeling more nervous than usual. He can't believe the day he's able to marry the woman he loves finally come "…Dalton?" her voice calling his name snapped him back.

Everyone cheered loudly for them as they were now officially Husband and Wife.

After the wedding ceremony, everyone had dinner together, and congrats to the new King and Queen of Sakura Kingdom. Everything was perfect and everyone enjoys the party. Too bad the Straw Hat pirates had to leave the party and leave the island so soon, but they are happy for them.

When the party is over, Dalton and (y/n) went back to their room and rest there. They're exhausted from today's event as they lay on their bed together in their wedding attire "it's more exhausting than I imagine" Dalton sighs.
