Bright sighs as he lies on his bed. He wasn't a friendly person and he doesn`t have any communication skills. Such things like making a friend are too difficult of a task for his level.
"Aah, whatever"
Bright leap up and downloaded several games on his computer and some on his phone, to try out socializing. It was something he found out from observing his classmates!
They formed friendships through gaming!
However, after a few hours of gaming, he found something truly hideous.
[You died]
For the 1075th time, Bright failed to kill the novice level boss of the beginners' dungeon.
"Huh?"
The frustrated boy stared blankly at the screen. A barrage of chats popped in the public room for the online player.
[Who's that? Bright_Needs_Friends?]
[ lolol come here and watch this guy. He was killed by goblins multiple times!!]
[Bright_Needs_Friends? What kinda username is that? Lame.]
[lolol so lame!]

...
"Aaah! These trolls!" Sounds of frustrated groan filled the room. It was way past midnight and most people in the manor had already fallen asleep. Except for Bright and several of his hidden guards who are still on the lookout, nobody knows that the young boy sucks at mobile games.
"Young Master, is there a problem?" The next day, Bright evaded his computer and phone like a plague.
A maid went up to him; trouble by his lethargic expression. It was the first time that the Young Master had ever made such a face.
Bright sighed, for the nth time. He then waved his hand to indicate that it was nothing. There's no way he'd tell something so embarrassing like that to anyone!
'Maybe I should just let go of the idea of having online friends?' He sighed again, feeling dejected.
It wasn't as if there was no tomorrow for him anymore.
"Who cares if I don't have friends right?"
"Eh?" The maid looked at him, confused and troubled.
'The fact that I was so incapable..is so frustrating'
Bright's head fell to the wooden table, but the boy ignored the stinging pain on his head. He has a problem bigger than this headache.
"Young Master!?"
The maid couldn't take it anymore and lightly grabbed Bright's shoulders. One could tell she was about to cry.
"The Head Master had ordered all of us to take care of your well-being! You might think it's presumptuous of me, but I wish the Young Master would ask me for any advice to help tend to his worries!"
'If the Head Master finds out that the Young Master is worried about something and the maids aren't able to help him, then we'll lose our heads!'
Right now, all these maids and bodyguards who tend to Bright 24/7 are all hired assassins. They were tasked to keep Bright safe and protect his overall well-being.
There was no way Bright's father would not tighten Bright's security.
Bright sighed and made a complicated expression. He opened his mouth, only to end up closing it again. He did that a few more times before he came up with the decision to tell her what his problem was in the end.
"You see.." And so, an hour was spent with Bright's rants about how hard it was to play games. The maid thought it was a serious problem and never thought it was just about a normal teenager's problem. After he was done talking, the maid's expression twisted as if troubled.
"Why are you focusing on online games, young master? There are several apps where you can talk with several people without exposing your identity. Take Facebook, for example. You can create a fake account and then talk to someone using that account." His maid passionately explained, amidst feeling perplexed at her young master.
Bright listened to her words and raised his head. He massaged it lightly as he nodded his head in amazement.
He found it harder to follow through with his same age peers' knowledge about gadgets. It was because he was never handed one when he was young and thus never had any chance to use a mobile phone until very recently. He did find out about online games and some of the terms. But other than those few terms? He was completely ignorant.
One thing he overheard was that in online games, one can talk to other people. It was a way to form friendships and build bonds with other people.
He wasn't that affected by this lack of knowledge and was aware that he still had a long way before him, but this was truly inconvenient at times.
"I see. Then I'll use that app, right? Okay, I'll download it later!" Bright's mood brightened and he subconsciously smiled.
The maid who gave him advice and the other maids around him were surprised; it was the first time they had seen the young master's smile.
Bright, oblivious to the maids' faces filled with admiration, went back to his room. He then looked around for his phone. After he saw it underneath his pillows, he grabbed it.
He was about to download the apps the maids recommended to him but before he could even tap on the Play Store his eyes caught onto a certain app on his screen. An app with a very catchy name on it.
He remembered why he downloaded it before. It was because of that very name, that weird name, that he even reminded himself to check it out despite it being under the 'solo-player' tag.
He held off downloading the other apps and clicked on the app with the name "School Simulator: Date a Tsundere [1]".
The silent room, and Bright's suspicious gulps, would make one wonder what sketchy thing he was up to. The guards and assassins watching him from hidden places almost wanted to laugh, but they all bit their mouths to prevent themselves from bothering the teen.
'Better let the young boy explore his teenage phase'
Bright was unaware of the meaning behind the word 'Tsundere', nor what one could do in a school simulator game. But he saw the word 'date', so he immediately clicked download.
'Well, you really can't blame me. I'm a young teen, and it's normal to be curious about things related to romance.....right?' Bright pacified himself.
Bright gulped again and glanced at the screen. He hid under the sheets, as he patiently waited for the game to finally finish loading.
The screen shows two game characters. One was a very beautiful girl in a yellow swimsuit. Her large boobs paired with a skinny body might make most teens go ballistic, but Bright was an exception. He just could not see anything attractive in that state of a body.
When he took a look at the other character, his motion came to a halt. The screen shows a boy character. Black wavy hair and sky blue eyes.
The only thing he had on was a pair of black swimming trunks, as they appeared to be on a beach. His arms were folded atop his chest, and he looked grumpy. Despite his unfavorable expression, the tinge of red on his cheeks made him appear oddly beautiful.
Bright couldn't keep his gaze away from this game character. One thought emerged in his mind.
