Chapter 1: I am pregnant

"I'm pregnant."

Hallie Morgan took a deep breath, finally gathering enough courage to spit out the reason for her sudden arrival.

"What did you say?"

The man before her, already full of impatience, suddenly looked up, his disbelief gradually giving way to anger. His face, normally the picture of perfection, was now aflame with rage.

"You didn't take the pill?"

"I, I was inexperienced... It was my first time." Hallie was shrinking back, worried that he might reach across the table to strangle her at any moment.

Just a month ago, it was completely unconceivable to her that she would be carrying a child. And the father of the child is none other than Dylan Collins, the CEO of Collins Corporation, a man so wealthy that everyone in Wallam is afraid to even look at him.

The scariest thing was, they were complete strangers to each other a month ago.

All because she had ventured into the wrong room...

"Do you think I would believe that?" He stared fixatedly at the woman before him, who was pleading with him with a guilty look. His mind was occupied by those four words she had uttered.

She was actually pregnant? With his child?

"A month ago, I told you I wouldn't like to see you here again. And now you tell me you're pregnant and come here. What do you want? Want me to marry you? Huh, you are bolder than I thought."

"No, not at all, I'm not asking you to marry me." She hurriedly explained. "I knew right from the start that you have a girlfriend. It was wrong of me, I shouldn't have come to find you. I want to have an abortion, but I don't have the money, so I had no choice but..."

Dylan Collins' black eyes twitched as he watched the girl in front of him desperately trying to explain.

"So, you are here for money?" He seemed to understand, let out a sneer, and propped his palms on the transparent glass table before him. "What makes you think you can ask me for money? That incident a month ago was completely your fault!"

"I know, I understand, it's all my fault..." Hallie Morgan's eyes fell close. She was speechless and deeply embarrassed.

A month ago, when she woke up from bed to find Dylan Collins instead of her boyfriend next to her, she immediately recognized the infamous high-handed CEO.

She was bewildered and utterly astounded.

Why was he in her room?

This question persisted until she noticed the birthday surprise set up on the table.

On it was written, "Happy Birthday, Ally Berg."

Everyone knew that Ally Berg, the celebrity, had been dating Dylan Collins for many years.

So, Dylan Collins had booked the hotel room to surprise Ally on her birthday, but she had ruined it with a silly mistake?

"A month ago, if you hadn't run off so quickly, I would have thrown you into the river to feed the fish. Now you dare come to me for money? Don't you know who I am?"

Hallie, along with the chair underneath her, reeled backward. The look on her face suggested that she wished she could kneel and beg for mercy. "I was wrong. I'll find a way to get the abortion money myself. I promise I won't show up in front of you again, you can rest assured!"

Hallie swiveled around and prepared to run off after moving a meter back.

"Come back here."

Dylan Collins, clinching his fists, stopped her with an ashen face. With an air of disdain, he took out a credit card from his wallet without sparing her a second glance.

"The abortion money. Get rid of it today, or next time when I have to deal with it myself, I might eliminate you along with it."
