Taking The Blame (Part 1)

"F-Father..."

Liseis muttered with a blank face as she looked at the dead body of her father. It was obvious that the man killed himself.

She could pretty much guess what had happened. She wasn't oblivious to her father's actions back then even until now.

Then she looked at Luther who was caressing the cover of the thick book.

"You were lucky he didn't kill you," she said and walked up to him.

Luther sighed, "I'm sorry for your father."

"Let's just see the end of this..." Liseis waved his comment off and pointed at the book. Their eyes were glued to the author's names.

[ True History ]

[ Kalzic Flamestone and Emilia Storm ]

Then, they started reading.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

The sound of blank pages being ignored was heard throughout the room. Then a few pages more, they arrived at the first content.

[ There is only one soul and many shells for both Gods and Humans. ]

They could almost hear a voice speaking to them. It was a gentle voice, kind, and soothing to hear.

"Hey, did you..."

Liseis looked at Luther but stopped talking when she saw that he was already looking at her with a knowing face.

"I can hear it too."

Teachings poured inside their heads but they couldn't identify who it was from. They could only imagine the soft smile on the person's face as that person was talking.

"Souls existed from the beginning. They will continue to exist for eternity."

Flip. Flip. Flip.

[ The most powerful God, Kalzic Flamestone, was a forgotten God buried in history. He could grant wishes. ]

Fwooom!

There was a bright flash and the surrounding changed.

Whatever was happening, both Liseis and Luther was experiencing it together.

"Kalzic..."

Liseis was surprised to hear her own voice. She knew she was the one who spoke but her mouth moved on its own without her will.

'What the heck?'

She looked at herself and saw an unfamiliar sight.

Long, wavy brown hair flowed past her waist and she looks way taller than she should be.

Then she heard another voice calling her.

"Emilia..."

It wasn't her name but she could tell it was addressed to her. It was a familiar voice coming from an unfamiliar man.

She turned around and saw a man with pastel yellow hair.

Liseis knew this was the 'Kalzic' her voice called but she could also tell this man was the 'Luther' she knew.

Luther was also going through the same thing. She knew that 'Liseis' was in front of him even if the unfamiliar woman in front of him was named 'Emilia' as his voice had called.

It was a weird experience for both of them.

Then 'Kalzic' spoke.

"What do you wish for?"

"I-"

But before they could hear her answer, the surrounding had changed once again.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

They heard the turning of a page.

[ Ever since the dawn of time, Kalzic was a God respected by all. The Gods loved him. The humans loved him. ]

Fwoooooosh!

The night brightened up with white dust and his ears were filled with laughter and instrumental noises.

Luther's heart felt full as he looked at the scene in front of him.

'This is...'

He could feel joy, happiness, satisfaction. He felt as if all the good things were wrapped into this scene.

Then he looked at 'Emilia' beside him. The woman had a gentle smile on her pretty face as she fixed the flower crown on her heart.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Suddenly, Luther found it hard to breathe.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

[ Emilia Storm, this human, she loved and respected Kalzic more than anyone. ]

Liseis adjusted again to the changing setting.

She was now standing on top of a tower while looking down at a certain someone. The golden hair stood out first no matter where she looked.

'This feeling...'

Her heart felt like it was being tickled relentlessly.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

[ Kalzic loved and respected Emilia too. He loved the Gods and humans equally. He was a God that loved everything. ]

The bright atmosphere slowly turned dim.

Luther and Liseis felt it at that moment. They had a bad feeling telling them that these beautiful memories weren't going to last forever.

And they were right.

"Ugh."

"Mgh."

They groaned in unison and clutched at the area over their chest.

Flip. Flip. Flip.

[ But Kalzic, the God who loved humans, was also the God that had been betrayed by them. ]
