CHAPTER 58: Victory

The moment I relaxed my arms, I felt this bitterness inside me. I felt as if I had been drained out of all my energy and power. I felt this major weakness and dizziness too. It was as if I was almost going to fall down, but then Death took hold of me at the right time. He knew I had gotten weak now and so he slowly flew down with me while holding me by my arm tightly, so I wouldn't stumble.

Valek was still unconscious when I reached the ground. All the others were sitting around him. The book-keeper sort of vanished from there, though I don't know when he helped us anyway.

"So the prophecy was indeed true?" Fred asked Death.

"Yes, I guess a water elemental was required in the war after all," I gave off a little victorious laugh.

"No, that's not the thing…" Fred said.

I had landed safely on the ground by then, with Death by my side.
