She sat like that for some time, just looking at her hair. Suddenly she got up, but with that movement came a rush of pain.
Luna looked down at her arms, and was shocked at the sight they were full of rifts and bruises. She could also feel that there would be wounds under her clothes, but she did not want to take a closer look.
After her pain had subsided a little bit, and gone to the back of her mind, she noticed that she had a bag on her back. She took it off and saw that it was very primitive compared to her own school bag, which was nowhere to be seen either. Now that she thought about it, she herself was wearing a, at one point, very nice dress. But now it was dirty and torn to pieces.
She opened the bag and found a few blankets, but could not immediately see anything else in it.
Darkness had begun to fall, and she looked up from what she was doing. This she did when some small noises came from the nearest bush. Luna went closer, but could not immediately see anything.
Suddenly a small red foxes head came up. It looked at her with its head slightly tilted, and came with a small bark.
Luna stood completely still, and looked at it. The fox jumped out of the bush, and came closer to her. It went over and bid at the bottom of her dress while looking up at her.
Luna wanted to scream, but did not. Because what if it would bite her, it could have rabies or something like that, she thought. The fox began to pull at her, and completely without thinking about it, she began to walk along.
They walked for a long time, but Luna noticed something strange. There was almost no activity in the forest. All the animals that they passed through the forest just sat and looked after them.
While she was in her own thoughts, they reached the destination that the fox had decided on. She looked up, and looked straight into a large cave. The fox made a movement with its head, which showed that she should go in there.
Luna looked around a bit and finally noticed a pile on the ground, which consisted of berries and fruit. She looked back for the fox, but it was gone, along with nearly all the other animals. A wolf stood back and looked at her. It stood there like that for some time, when it finally nodded towards her and walked away.
…
A big change had happened in her life in just a few days, Luna thought, while she was still sitting on the branch bed. She had made the bed after the animals had disappeared and she had come a little bit to herself again
It was as if it still had not dawned on her that the whole thing was not a dream. She lay down completely, closing her eyes.
