He opened his eyes to find himself back. The old fast food place she used to work at, the door was open.
The last time he saw her he was too afraid to enter. He knew she didn't want his company, and it pained him immensely to realise his longing for her remained.
It was all too obvious that he was in a dream. He knew she had moved on, and all his efforts to amend were in vain.
Yet this time, he went in. He walked up to the her he recalled so clearly and looked her in the eyes. Mustering up the courage that he should have had back then and opened his mouth.
" I love you, and forever will. I was foolish and needy and I pushed you away. I know you have a new boyfriend and you probably never loved me and hate me so much that you never want to see me again, but I still love you unconditionally and wish that you will always be the happiest person in the world. I don't care how painful it will be but I will love you and go out of my way to ensure you are happy and safe. So please live happily ever after so that I can be the happiest man on earth!"
When he was done, he found himself gasping for air. He looked up to her, and saw her smiling gently. He smiled back, and returned with tears to a world without her.
