We sat down in the Alley.
"So tell me about yourself." I said.
"I don't understand."
"Like your backstory. When were you born. Where are your parents. Things like that."
"Oh. Well I was born in this kingdom. My mother said that my dad was killed by an evil mage before I was even born. My mother raised me. She taught me everything I know. She died a few years ago."
"I'm sorry to hear that. How did she die?"
"Starvation." She had said the world with such a normal tone that one would think that she was just telling someone her name. "What about you?" She asked.
"I have told you. I woke up a few days ago in the forest."
( Knowing nothing but your name and science. )
"I remembered nothing but my name and a lot of knowledge about science."
"Oh! I haven't heard that word before. What does it mean?"
"Science is the study of basically anything and everything. It tells you how everything works."
"It sounds so complicated." She said in a voice that was somewhere between confusion and boredom.
"That's because it is. Anyway after I woke up I started wandering the forest. Surviving on nothing but fruits. After two days I finally found this city and snuck in. I was looking for a place to rest when I found you."
Lily's face clearly showed that she expected something more interesting than my tiny tale of the forest.
"So anyway, what do you think we should do for our first Quest?" I asked, changing the subject.
We continued talking about Quests for the next few hours. In the end we decided that the best option would be to pick the easiest Quest available.
After it got dark we ate the rest of the fruits and prepared to sleep.
I didn't really like the idea of laying down while sleeping because I was a paranoid person. So I sat with my back against the wall and closed my eyes. But then I felt something, or rather someone, on my side. I opened my eyes. It was obviously Lily.
I asked her "Why are you sleeping so close to me?"
"To keep warm of course. The nights get cold here.' She replied without ever looking up or opening her eyes.
I sighed. Knowing it was futile to argue, I closed my eyes and let myself get lost in the land of dreams.
