Freedom?

The veiled girl kneeled on the ground. Took the man's wrist and put two fingers on it to check his pulse. Her eyes were extremely concentrated and worried. That's when Zhou Shen noticed the mole.

Soon her almond eyes widened a little bit and looked at the man's face. She put her fingers on his neck. And urgently said, "Everyone please move and let the air come in. The man is barely breathing."

People moved away to let the airflow. The man had visibly low breaths now. Zhou Shen could mark that since he knew about it.

The girl started pressing the man's chest in a repeated motion. It was chest compressions.

Lin Huiying didn't perform two rescue breaths after the 30 chest compression. It was not the era where she could do that.

But soon enough, the man gasped for a long air. Everyone was relieved but surprised.

Zhou Shen has never seen someone perform such a procedure for cardiac arrest.

Soon the middle-aged man woke up and was carried home with the help of his servants and daughter. The girl repeatedly thanked Lin Huiying.

The crowd dispersed while talking about the 'CPR.'

Both the trios returned to their respective tables. For a while, people stole gazes at Lin Huiying while whispering to each other.

'See this is the reason why I don't want to be a doctor in this world. They will question my every modern technique and then gossip with some tea and biscuits.' Lin Huiying was a little frustrated with all the gazes which eventually stopped.

"Hmm, so what's going on?" Lin Dan asked with an interesting look on his face.

"Medical knowledge! What else. That's just something new I learned recently." Lin Huiying answered while acting nonchalantly. Then she turned to look at the table behind her with a frown.

Lin Dan didn't ask further when he saw a deep frown on his sister's face. And he was not too surprised that his sister knows medicine because she has books regarding that field in her study. So he decided to drop the subject.

Lin Dan looking at the same table asked, "So what do you think about those two people?"

Lin Huiying: "About what?"

Lin Jiang: "Who was wrong? The parent who gave the freedom or the girl?"

Clearly, both were expecting/hinting her to say that the father was wrong. They all were the same age. Every teenage child wants freedom.

The trio next table who was now listening to their conversation with a focus was also awaiting her answer. She was a girl herself, so what would be her answer?

"Simple – both." Lin Huiying took a sip of her tea and continued with a long sigh, "Do you know when a person flies a kite, it is attached to a string which is in his hands? Now the kite wants to fly high in the air and go wherever it wants to go. Because why not? – The sky is the limit. To grant the wish of his dear kite, the man lets the string go. The kite is free now. It soars high and far in the sky with the help of the wind. But after a while, the wind stops and is unable to carry the kite. Without the wind, the kite starts gradually falling till it reaches the ground or gets caught in the tree. Now imagine - the kite is the child, the wind is the external factor, and the person holding the string is the parent.

Without the parent having a string attached to their child, the child will either hit rock bottom or be stuck in a place from where no one can save them. Parents wouldn't even have any idea about where their child is. The child just wants freedom without knowing what will happen if the string is cut. While the parents know the outcome.

The only solution would have been for the person holding the kite to loosen their hold on the string a little bit while keeping the kite in their eyesight. In this way, even kites can enjoy the sky while always staying on top.

Freedom is important, yes. But at a limit. It depends on the age and social environment. Now answer me, will the princess of this country and the girl from a middle-class family will be given the same amount of freedom?"

Lin Jiang: "No, they won't be."

On the side, Zhou Dongyu also shook her head.

Lin Huiying: "Exactly. Another thing about freedom is that it depends on the environment you grow up in and at what age you get that freedom. The girl was still young, she was influenced by different factors which led her to elope with a servant."
