“Let me see, there is Will - he is a retired judge that handles all the court cases. You will meet him later this morning. Then there’s Ronald,” and he took a sip from his tea, leaned over and took another sandwich before he continued, “Ronald is the joker in the camp, a hard worker that doesn’t take any bullshit from anyone. He normally helps Will during the hearings.”
“And you, what do you do?” she asked him while assessing him carefully. “I am next in charge,” he said without any hint of conceitedness. He placed the cup on the table and cleaned the table of any crumbs which he placed back in his plate. When she smiled at his politeness he just looked up and caught her, returning the smile.
“I am glad to see you up; you had us scared for a while.” She nodded, very happy to be alive as well. If it weren’t for the antibiotics, she wouldn’t have been sitting here listening to him.
“Me too, I am glad to be alive. I am incredibly grateful for all your help.”
