She had to act normal about this, she knew she had to, but then he lifted her chin and she met his searching eyes.
“What are you not saying?” his piercing eyes did an x-ray on her and she wanted to squirm under its intensity.
She debated with herself if she could trust him enough to reveal her plans.
“Be honest with me, please,” his tone revealed his own turmoil and she realised that it would be best to confide in him.
“I have…” the door swung open completely and Patrick said tersely, “We need to go, now.” interrupting her abruptly. She knew she would have spilt it to Dirk and she swallowed at the guilt but for some reason Dirk held her chin and she couldn’t move.
“We need to go.” she whispered.
“Not until you tell me what’s going on.”
“Come on people, no time for this, it’s late.”
“We are coming,” Dirk answered without taking his eyes from her. “Hurry,” Patrick said again leaving them there.
