Part 2: Chapter 44: Could it be that they found her?

This late in the evening the men walked about without purpose. Sounds of children filtered through the downpour well hidden from view. Then they noticed a burned-out truck and a pile of debris closer to the swamp - evidence of a recent raid. On their right was a ragged tent. At the opening a man took a pull from his cigarette. He did not look like a soldier, no weapon in sight. His clothing sagged on him but was neat. The tent was the perfect place to enter and eliminate if need be.

They crawled closer and once certain all was clear, cut the fence with a multi-tool big enough to squeeze through. With hand signs they communicated the next step, then split. Years of working together allowed no explanation between the pair. Each knew what to do and trusted each other extremely.
