Part 3: Chapter 56: Curt is worried about Sonia

Curt just ended the call with his daughter when Doug entered his office. It was already deep in the night, with the fan on high-speed offering no relief. Ignoring the annoying sound they were used too.

"Sir." Curt leaned back in the chair.

"Yes, Sergeant." Three missions were of concern, two went bad, and they deployed troops on a rescue mission. One soldier was unaccounted for.

"Two men are in the medical tent. We almost lost Hubert, but they pulled him through. Swanson will report back for duty tomorrow."

"That is good." However, what Curt wanted to ask was: "How is Main?" He worried about her. Even the Lord worried about her. He tried to shrug it off, but could not. This was another kind of danger, a personal matter.

"The Head Nurse did well today," Doug said. "She just left for her room."

Curt frowned … 22h23.

"She refused to go until Hubert was out of the woods," Doug clarified and smiled. "She is good with the men and staff; they respect her, Sir."
