Chapter 17
One was about to jump from my left and I could hear a hissing vampire running towards me from behind. I clicked the auto fire button of my pistol and pulled the trigger whilst turning towards my left. My gun started firing automatic shots of bullets killing the other two vampires in pursuit of me.
But I had no time to relax or rest because I could see more coming from afar. I ran once again looking behind me to know if I needed firing my gun once again.
As I ran I realized that they're monsters alright, I saw one drinking the blood of their own kind's carcass. I saw some vampires biting on the bodies of the ones I just killed. What really disgusted me was how some even fed their pets--chimeras, their comrades' dead bodies.
I was so busy looking back that I failed to look ahead of me. A group of vampires were running towards me from my right. Before I knew it I was face to face with two vampires, male and female.
A blond haired woman hissed at me like a stupid cat. I shot her straight in the face, making her head explode. Then the guy attacked me, probably the woman's mate wailing and screaming at the same time. God, he shrieked like a banshee when I sunk my bolo on his chest after shooting off his extremities.
I moved swiftly like a ballet dancer in her performance. Holding an automatic forty-five caliber pistol on the left and my Bolo on the right, talk about a modern day warrior princess kicking vampires' sorry ass. They were attacking me tirelessly with knives that I could barely dodge.
I was trapped once again in one of the giant trees. Knives were raining from left to right. I dunk down crouching low on the ground, dodging three knives aimed on my chest. I had to start running using my hand as leverage tucking my bolo on my belt.
I never had this much of a field work since I left the military seven years ago. The last one I had was when my team had to rescue some hostages in a terrorist camp. And even if I practiced my martial arts and did cardio on a daily basis for the last two years, I never really had to do this evasive footwork. So, from that graceful dancer I was suddenly dodging knives for my life.
I was forced to use spark bombs just to escape. They could easily out run me but it's in their nature to love chasing their meal like fucking animals on the hunt. I was running, shooting and slicing anything that would cross my path until I got surrounded.
"Nowhere to run, little girl." said the guy with too much of an accent. I couldn't understand him much. He had ash blond hair, blood-shot eyes and fangs. "I'd love to sink my fangs on your delicate flesh, and taste your innocence." He was trying to
I smirked at him. "Innocent this, asshole!" I began shooting and running in his direction. He was taken by surprise and just stood there wide eyed, not even attacking me back. I sunk my Bolo on his shoulder hearing his bones crack with the pressure and I shot him on his forehead. His eyes never left me even in death. It was creepy so I closed it.
That was my stupid mistake, after closing his eyes someone grabbed my right hand and broke it. My adrenaline kicked in making me shoot my attacker but he easily tossed me like a rag doll on a huge tree.
I felt my bones cracking from the force as I hit the trunk of the tree. I was thrown almost a block away from where I killed that vampire. I landed with a thump on the ground as I groaned. I couldn't breath from the pain. I started coughing out blood and I forced myself to sit up against the tree I hit. I couldn't stop tears from falling as I assessed my body. I winced with every attempted movement, biting hard on my lip to at least focus on that area. My right arm was broken with bones literally sticking out, and I have at least five cracked ribs. I tried breathing in as deep as I can, it hurts like hell, but at least I can.
