Chapter 40

Crickets chirping echoed from the outside while vapors from the warm water started filling the air in our bathroom. Xed and I were still basking from our post coital bliss. My back was leaning on his torso, head resting on his chest. He slowly eased himself out from inside me.

He was still huge but not rock hard. I suddenly felt incomplete without that part of him in me. Perhaps it was a sign of sexual withdrawal. I felt like an addict wanting a fix. The irony of loving someone whom I couldn't be with personally.

He suddenly buried his face in my hair. "Can I just bury my dick in you all the time?" Frustration laced his muffled voice as he positioned himself behind me. "I think I'm getting addicted to your body."

Chuckling, I patted his head. "There-there you clingy clingy boy." He gently started hugging me from behind like a toddler clinging to his security blanket. It made me giggle, realizing that both of us just wanted to be near each other. "I'm missing you inside me the moment you slipped out." I confessed.

"We can do it every night. If you want." He was tempting me to say yes as he kissed the side of my head. He then chuckled with realization, "I sounded like a fucking teenage boy who just had his first fuck."

"Well…you're my first fuck." I replied to him in a serious tone. "Physically I'm still a virgin. But then again, you had fucked my brains out already." 

"Well…I plan on being your first in everything." He sighed, hugging me closer. "You need rest."

"I am resting." I never felt more relaxed and at ease. I could only feel relaxed whenever I'm with him."You told me yourself, I'm sleeping soundly."

He chuckled. "Physically, yes, you are resting. But if you continue on being mentally active for a long period of time. Your mind will get exhausted."

I realized what he meant. "It's because I'm human, right?" I looked up to him. He only gave me a sad smile.

"You've been having nightmares, that too has been a burden to you. You need to sleep so that your brain can remove all the waste it's producing." He sounded like my college professor going on and on about the needs of our body.

I raised an eyebrow on him. "Well, I told you that before this happened." I made hand gestures to emphasize our naked entwined bodies then splashed some water on his face. "And now you're lecturing me on the importance of sleep?" I wanted to roll my eyes but that would piss him off.

He playfully bit my shoulder. "Well…if you allow me to change you, we'll get to make love for days on end." 

I smiled and sighed. "Let's just cross the bridge when we get there." I felt him nodding on the side of my head.

"Let's get you dried up and ready for bed. Shall we?" 

We stood up from the warm water not caring about water dripping on the tiled floor. He started drying me with the fluffy towel from our cabinet, while I took one and covered his midsection. I didn't want to gawk on his still semi erected penis. At the end of it, my knees were still too weak from everything that he had to carry me to bed. We were like awkward newlyweds sharing a night for the first time. But I loved every second of it. 

He was carrying me bridal style towards my bedroom when I saw the city skyline. There were lights in our city. "Why are there lights in the city?" I was curious enough to ask.

"There are new settlers in the city." He continued walking towards my bed. "Newly infected people need a place to settle down."

"You mean…there are people still in Sorsogon?"

"There are a lot of things I wanted to tell you. But you need rest." He was smiling at me as he settled me down on the bed.

"Okay." I pouted like a toddler who doesn't like to do things but would eventually realize that it's inevitable. "I don't want any nightmares." I mumbled.

"I'll shield them for you. Just close your eyes now baby." He knelt on the floor next to my side of the bed. "You need to relax now."

"Kiss me." I uttered one last request. Perhaps I was scared of sleeping and waking up without him. But when our lips collided with soft and tender urgency, I just felt at ease. It was as if I'm home. I finally found him. And he was not going anywhere.
