Labrinth

Aurora goes with him to get stitched while Susy talks to me around the same wooden table. "I saw him die, Mrs.Black..."

"Miss Black" she said with a soft smile. "You can keep that from happening, right? Just as you saved hundreds of kids from famine and death, you can for sure save the boy you love."

"How did you know....?" "I've been through quite some experience, my dear. But in all seriousness, anyone who has eyes can see what I saw."

"The issue is... it wasn't as clear as last time. I can't remember the spacetime because | couldn't get my eyes out of him aching... I don't know when it could happen."

"So hear me out, Cecilia. This is the worst time ever to separate. Keep tied. My son is in danger, and your trip is, too. Please, Cecilia. Watch out."

"I'm anxious enough." Tears dripping from my eyes. I can't realise | didn't pay attention to what could've saved him.

My face rests in my palm until Aurora opens the door, and Brian, number than ever, followed. How could I tell him while looking him straight in the eyes? But I had to. At least so he'd pay attention to himself. I was trembling. "Aurora will tell him, just go to bed." I was infinitely grateful. I really didn't want to burst in tears while telling him something he shouldn't be scared about in the first place. Susy whispered everything in her daughter's ear who managed to get Brian to the kitchen.

*puns aside 😆😏 .*

I hear the awful whispers, the tears upstairs, and wonder why this dreary mission was mine? Why was I the one to see things before others? Blessing and a curse.

My mom was calling; I rapidly informed her that I was about to sleep at the Blacks' house until some troubling matter was elucidated and hopefully eluded.

Aurora came downstairs in a rush and asked me about the guy we met in the front yard. She notes down the physique my anxious eye caught that day : dark curly hair, terrifying amber eyes that were most probably lenses, a metal choker, and probably in his late twenties or early thirties. She runs to describe it to her mom. Their relationship makes me envious.

Susy has eyes sparkling, but with fear now.

"Track him! Hunt him! He certainly wants you dead!" After a small break and a sigh; she settles her voice to a murmur and tells me to call my mom.

"We need her now more than ever."

Fifteen minutes later, mom comes running in a plastic waterproof coat with the hood on, and cat sunglasses hiding her eyes, mechanically following the adress I sent her on Google Maps. When I open the door, she takes my face in her hand and hugs me tight. She then skit walks and crosses Susy's gaze and holds her tight, while Miss Black's face utters the biggest bafflement and confusion possibly existing.

"I'm sorry. Sorry for everything, it had been against my will."

"Well maybe now you might tell me why your nephew wants to kill my son?"

"Could anyone bother to explain everything from the beginning?"

Aurora's voice had been harsh, high, but cristal clear. I was thankful someone could ask all the questions in my head and make them this level of heard.

Susy went to fill the kettle up, again.

"I'll make us tea."
