Chapter Nineteen

Ava’s POV

I woke up and sighed out loud. My eyes darted to look out the window. The sky was still dark. Moving to the other side of the bed, I picked my phone up from the table and checked my phone.

Four AM.

It was freaking four in the morning. I sighed out loud again.

It was only after the last hour that I managed to fall asleep. Otherwise I had spent the whole last hour staying awake and replaying things that happened in the pool.

I did not want to try and go back to sleep but I also did not want to move out of the bed either. So, instead of moving and getting the day started, I settled more into the bed and became more comfortable.

I stared outside the window. And once again my thoughts began racing inside my head.

I cringed at the thought when I slipped and fell into the pool like an idiot. And the way I had flung my hands around to stay on the surface of the water …
