CHAPTER 5

Well, it will be shocking news for others, but for us, it was exhilarating news. It's because we got to know that our flight is delayed for an hour, so there's no need to rush.

Exactly before midday, when the sun is about to travel at its highest point in the sky, we got into our plane and took our seats. Before I set down, I took a look at my team members and coach, and I saw their shining eyes with desires. With lots of expectations and anticipation, we started to fly to India. None of us knew that our aim will be fulfilled or not. I just hope that everything will go well, according to our destiny, finger crossed.

After few hours of travel, we arrived at the destination. I felt like I was in seventh heaven when my foot touched the ground. "Guys, listen, now we are going to the hotel and stay along with other players. Please behave yourself because you guys are representatives of our country," said our Coach in a concerted manner. We nodded and smirked. "One more thing, wherever you go don't forget to wear the team jacket and stay with the group," he warned us. We shook as a sign of agreement.

While the sky was ablaze with the fire of the setting sun, we quickly grabbed our belongings and reached the hotel by a rental van. As soon as we arrived, our coach gave us two room keys, one for the girls and another one for the boys.

Without further discussion, my new roommates Shayirah, Jia En and I went to our room. The moment I opened the door, I placed my things in the corner of the room and jumped on my bed. Within a minute, I fell into a deep sleep. Again, I went to my dream world where I met Siddharth and was having an amazing conversation. I can discern that I was drowning in his hazel eyes and incredible smile which made my day.

"Evlyn, wake up we got to go for dinner," said Shayirah by patting my back. I hummed and turn the side. "WAKE UP!!," shouted Jia En. I jerked and grumbled, "you guys go first I have to freshen up." " Okay, we're waiting at the lounge and don't be late," said Syayirah before leaving the room. I nodded and went to the washroom after picking up my clothes to change.

A few minutes later, I went to the ground floor as I know my coach and teammates are waiting for me. As fast as I got down, I apologized to my coach and he smiles smugly.

All of us wore our team jackets and started to walk towards the restaurant. When we reached the restaurant, we took our seats. We had been ruffled by the menu they gave to us. "Sorry, we only serve rice as a meal until 3 pm. So for now we have poratta, chappati and some fried food," said the waiter. We rolled our eyes and ordered fried rice as we were starving.

While waiting for the food, our coach gave us some important announcement, which is " Guys, listen, tomorrow we have sparred for girls and the day after will be for boys. Don't forget to support each other when they are inside the ring". We all nodded and I was extremely anxious about my game. When our coach completes his line the waiter placed the food we ordered on the tables.

A few hours later, we finished our food and we sauntered towards the hotel. When I looked up at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity, it reminds me of the promises that I made to myself. I beamed and walked back to my room. Once my roommates fell asleep, I took out my diary and wrote about the promises and the feelings which were bothering me to tell to someone. Well, I have a habit to write a diary when I have thoughts that I can't explain to others. In other words, the only friend who never stab behind my back and always ready to listen to me at any time and anywhere. Most of the time, it gives me peace of mind. After some time, I dropped off to sleep.

I was roused from a deep sleep when the ray of sunlight lit up my room. I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window. It was another day that had dawned, bringing new hopes and aspirations with it. I woke up my roommates and got myself ready. It was a big day for me and my only motive is not to make my coach embarrassed by my performance in the ring. I took all the important things that I need and left the room.

When I walked down with my arms outstretched, I glimpsed at all the teams who are ready to take a step out of the entrance. While we making a sudden departure, I heard someone screech with pain. Without my knowledge, I started to wander in the direction.
