CHAPTER 14

After a while, they both stepped out of the car and opened the rear seat door. I just sit there, not looking up. To soothe me, Shayirah gently placed her hand on my shoulder. In exchange, I rest my head on her stomach and embrace her silently.

"Evlyn, don't be worried. We'll figure something out. We should be more cautious now that we know there's a guy following us. Believe me when I say that these threats will only last a short time. We'll be able to return to our homeland soon "she whispered as she stroked my hair.

The mention of threats reminded me of the goon's warning. I stepped out of the car swiftly after breaking the hug."No. I had to leave. He'll track me down, "I mumble again and again as I was slowly back away from her. "Evlyn?" Shayirah spoke as curiosity engulfed her face.

"No... If you're with me, you'll be in big trouble as well. He said he's coming for me, so I should stay away from you people, "I muttered as I pushed her away and began to walk faster in the opposite direction, despite my injured leg. Before I could go very far, she grabbed my wrist and asked, "What in the world are you talking about? Have you lost your mind? For your information, we're on the road, and it's already becoming dark. What exactly are you attempting to achieve? " She was offended.

"I'm not sure where I'm heading. I am aware, though, that staying among you guys will be perilous. I'd like to track down that jerk before he tracks me down. This time, I'm resolved to stand up to him and prove that I'm not afraid of him." I let out this while sniffing and releasing my hand from her grip as a tear of misery welled up in my eyes.

My abrupt change in attitude, from angry to melancholy and from yelling to sobbing, caught her off guard. Well, I can't truly complain about her shock reaction when I'm not sure what's wrong with my emotional state. When I was about to walk away after my quick explanation, Shivaay pulled me in and pressed my back against the car. I was attempting to extricate myself, but he grabbed my hands and made it impossible for me to do so. Nonetheless, it didn't stop me from attacking him.

"STOP!! STOP! You're not running anywhere." He warned this as he gently shook me, trying to persuade me to think. "You have to be with us. Nothing is going to happen. I'm sure you heard me. When I claimed nothing would happen, I meant it. I'll inform the cops so that they can protect us. Therefore, for the time being, relax."He spoke gently, which soothed me, and I nodded while keeping my sight on the ground.

When I elevated my eyes to meet his, I was startled to see him already staring at me. He gives me a reassuring look to let me know that whatever he says, he means it. His hazel brown eyes make me weak since they want me to wallow in front of those incredible captivating eyes. He gradually releases his grip on my hands and He drew closer to me by clasping my arms.

Jesus Christ!

He trod on my swollen feet without even noticing it. I winced and shoved him back, "ah, AH!!" The force of the pain jolts my nerves and causes me to immediately bend down. I let out a gasp as I moved my leg to the side.

Shivaay was taken aback before he comprehended what had happened. When I was ready to fall owing to a lack of balance, Shivaay instantly grabbed my shoulder to keep me from falling. As Shayirah unlocked the back door of the car for me, Shivaay urged me to take careful steps towards the back seat.

Once I was seated, they both took their seats, and Shivaay began driving us to his house right away. In addition, no one attempts to converse at any point along the route. We can only hear the music on the radio and the winching sound I make when I move my leg. Later adjusting my feet to a comfortable position, I reclined back in my seat, gazing out the window and reflecting on the recent fiasco I created.

After a few minutes, Shivaay turned off the car's engine, indicating that we had arrived at his place. I brushed away my tear-stained tears and opened the door slowly, stepping out of the car. I made a mistake by referring to it as a house when, in fact, it is a luxury residence built with high-quality, long-lasting building materials and finished with an elegant touch. The outlook of this house had me spellbound. I sigh contentedly, thinking that this house looks safe enough for us to stay in rather than some random hotel.

Shayirah holds my hand as we approach the main door, assisting me in walking. As soon as we walked through the front door, Vihana aunty, Shivaay's mother, greeted us. To be honest, the scene in front of me reminds me of Shivaay's video. It's because when he saw his mother, he immediately touched her feet and hugged her for blessing. It makes me realise that he is simply being himself, whether on or off-screen. Shayirah and I were just standing there, staring around like two lost souls in the wilderness.

"Ma, they've come to meet me at my filming location. Then, because of the unexpected curfew, I invited them to stay with us. Is it all right if they stay here? " He asked his mother, who was smiling broadly. She nodded and added, "It's fine, they can stay here. In fact, by inviting them, you did a really good job". She patted his cheek with her hand.

"Aunty, please let us know if we are bothering you or if you are uncomfortable with us. We don't mind at all "I responded sheepishly as I gave Shayirah a gentle poke on the shoulder to get her to say anything. She explained with a puzzled expression "Yes, aunty, you may inform us. We can notify our teammates and have one of them come to get us." Aunt Vihana embraces us in a bear hug without responding to us.

Hugging a motherly figure is something I've never done before. It's not like I don't live with my mother to experience this kind of affection. It's simply that she never expressed her love for me by hugging me or saying beautiful things to me. She has always been severe, with a dash of sweetness, mother. I can't blame her because she didn't grow up with her parents, which is why I admired her so much for making such an effort to be a good mother to us.

"Don't think that way. We're just fine. Simply relax and feel at ease, as if you were in your own house, "Aunt Vihana stated as she broke the hug. Because of what happened on set, my eyes welled up with tears, and regardless of how terrified I was, this motherly hug was desperately needed. To minimise the appearance of emotional drama, I successfully controlled my tears and kept them from falling.

She looked at me with a question in her eyes and said, "So, what went wrong? What's up with your sad expression?". "It's nothing, really. It's simply that I'm caught aback by the hug because it felt different when you hugged me," I remarked nervously. "Oh, the hug reminded you of your mother," she chuckled. While everyone laughed at the statement, I looked a little embarrassed. "No... I mean, that's why I feel different," I explained, "because I've never hugged my mother before." "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't know you don't-," I cut her off before she could finish her sentence and added, "Oh, no." I didn't mean it that way. My mother exists, but we have never hugged each other before ". She flashed me a look that said, ' What are you saying?'. "Really? It's odd. So, how is your connection with your mother?" With scepticism, she inquired.

Now I'm kicking myself for choosing this topic. "Um...well...," I didn't want to respond to this question, so I just looked at Siddharth to ask for his help. As I expected, he understood what I was implying and informed his mom, "Ma, Allow them to rest since Evlyn is already unable to stand properly. You can question her about it later. For the time being, I'll go show them their room. " Aunty sighed and expressed her concern by saying, "You are right. You guys should go freshen up. After that, return for dinner. " In response, Shayirah and I nodded and started following Shivaay, who was directing us to the guest rooms.

After Shivaay showed us our room, Shayirah and I headed to our respective rooms. Before entering the room, I greeted Shivaay with a smile and said, "Thank you". "For what?" He inquired, his tone sceptical. "For your understanding, I don't want to explain my relationship with my mother," I murmured, peering into his eyes. Oh, there's no mention of that. I sensed your discomfort during the conversation. As a result, I put an end to the topic. "He smiled as he explained it. I give him a thank you grin before entering the room and closing the door.

After a quick glance around the room, I lay flat on the bed, a sigh leaving my mouth the moment the soft mattress touched my back. God! I just don't want to leave this room, and especially not from this bed. Shayirah enters my room a few minutes later, knocking on my door and holding a first aid kit. By looking at the first aid kit she was holding, I figured out the cause of her abrupt appearance. I carefully sat up and rested my back against the headboard of the bed before beginning to undo my bandage.

Oh, Damn! My ankle had turned blue-black.

I let out a grunt at the sight of my ankle and closed my eyes as Shayirah began applying ointment and rewrapping the bandage after she had made herself comfortable on the bed. "You should join them for dinner. I'm not in the mood to go because I'm not hungry. I'd like to take a rest. "I expressed this as I swallowed a painkiller. "No. You need to eat something. You have already skipped lunch, "she gave a sigh.

"Please, I am not hungry. I just want to rest for a while. All you have to do now is join them for dinner. Otherwise, they are unhappy. And you don't have to worry about me since I'm perfectly fine, "I said before adding, "Yes, please close the door behind you as you leave and thank you for being my nurse." As I lay down on the bed, I added and chuckled at my last remark. She shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips, and exited my room after closing the door. I was dizzy from the medication I had taken, so I drove away to sleep.
