“Why are you glaring at me? It’s not like we purposely got involved with them.” Arjun defended when his mother scolded him with her eyes.

She sighed before glancing back and forth between the young men before turning to her friend.

Selena was watching her miserable son. It’s clear that the guy is in love. But out of all people he chose someone with violence background.

“What’s his name again?” She asked, caressing his messy hair.

“Hunter.”

“You want to be with him?”

Neal inhaled deeply before shaking his head, “No. I want a peaceful life. Like before…with you guys.”

It was silent for a moment before Selena’s sharp voice broke it.

“Just because I didn’t see you for years doesn’t mean I can’t tell when you lie to me, because I still do.”

Her pointed gaze pierced his soul.

“Tell me Neal, do you lik–”

“I like him, Mom. And I…I think I have got it so bad.” A tear escaped his eyes as he melted in his mother’s trembling arms that came around him.
