“It sure is dark here around this time.” I look outside the window to get a familiar view of something I left behind, and moved on from. It looked the same, yet, it felt different, as if it’s staring at me, radiating an ominous aura. I was beginning to have second thoughts.
“That’s your house, right?” I nod, as Rachel parks in front of the main gate. We were 5 minutes early. It felt like we were going on a job interview, you’ll be judged if you come too early or too late. Yet this time, a bad judgment won’t end up in us losing a job, but a life. If, obviously, this isn’t a prank.
“Alright, Rachel you stay here. Keep the engine running. We’ll send a signal if we need help. But I doubt Emma would try do anything we can’t handle.” Isabella’s voice did not stutter. She thoroughly believed it was a plot by Emma to try something on me again. “Let’s go then, Isabella.”
