DRIVEN BY LOVE

Team QuickBae including SuperKid were still facing Alternate in the attempt of bringing him down for good. But before the fight began, Dr Smart reveled something;

Dr Smart: I have been so scared of admitting and owning up to the truth but no more, I have to come clean

QuickBae: What are you talking about?

Dr Smart: I am also a speedster, Kayleb

Every member of team QuickBae including SuperKid was shocked;

Kayleb: Really!

Dr Smart: Yes. Just like Alternate, the source of my speed also comes from you

Ali: That explains a lot of things

Presh: Yeah, like how you were able to help and teach Kayleb in using his speed. Only an experienced speedster can do something like that

Alternate: So you are one of the surviving four speedsters left? Interesting! I will just quickly round up with QuickBae and then come for your speed as well

Dr Smart: Don't flatter yourself! You have no idea what I am capable of

Alternate: Is that so? Then why don't you show me just how much you are made of

Dr Smart: Kayleb, there is one more thing I have to teach you. It actually relates to what Quantum Man said earlier

Kayleb: Do you mean the force within me that drives me to my goal?

Dr Smart: Yeah! The night the mercury oven exploded, I was actually in Smart's Lab also and just like Alternate, I got hit by the energy you released which increased my hyper motility tenfold. I also didn't slip into a Coma and instantly, I realized my abilities. But I hid myself, training alone and discovering other ways in using my skills; that is why I was able to teach you all that you know today. I am sorry that I didn't tell anyone about my abilities sooner, I just thought I was a bit old to be playing hero

Kayleb: You don't have to apologise for anything Dr Smart, we totally understand

Ali: Yeah

Dr Smart: Well as I was saying, being the second closest to you after Josh here and sucking in that immense energy made me a very strong speedster initially. But right now, I am way faster than you are and that is because of that Force within me which drove me to my goal

Kayleb: I don't understand

Dr Smart: What I mean is; I was initially in Mach 7 when I got my speed. But after discovering that force within me, improved to Mach 13

Kayleb: No way!

Dr Smart: Yeah! For me, protecting you is my main priority/goal, that is why I was able to improve from Mach 7-13 and become as fast as I am today. So Quantum man is right. All you have to do is find that force within you that drives you to your goal and you will be able to improve too in your level of speed

SuperKid: Just like how Quantum sensed I was in danger, he must have also sensed that Kayleb hadn't found the force within him that drives him to his goal. That's why Kayleb isn't fast enough to stop Alternate. I mean, that being said, even we Topians need a force that drives us to our goal to become stronger. The concept is the same for us all

Kayleb: But I don't know the force that drives me to my goal

Dr Smart: You just have to find it because it's in there somewhere. I believe in you Kayleb, you are the symbol of courage and hope. So you can do this. Find that force within you QUICKBAE!

Alternate: (Laughing) Do you really think that all what this guy just said is the truth? If you do, then I can already smell my victory, QuickBae!

Dr Smart: (Smiling) SuperKid, I need your help

SuperKid: I understand what to do!

SuperKid and Dr Smart then ran at Super speed towards alternate and started fighting; throwing supersonic punches

{punches with high speed and velocity} at Alternate. Alternate managed somehow to avoid getting hit by the two, but got shot by Joey and Aeres who were shooting from a distance. Distracted by the shots, Dr Smart managed to punch Alternate on the face and simultaneously, SuperKid kicked Alternated hard until he fell. Presh {still in Killer Freeze mode} then started freezing Alternate and was about covering his whole boy when Alternate broke free. Alternate was really in a tight spot as Team QuickBae showed remarkable teamwork. Not knowing what to do, he thought of a way to escape by distracting Team QuickBae. QuickBae on the other hand was still trying to figure

out the force within him which will help boost his speed when Alternate ran up to Ali and Aeres and grabbed both of them by the neck;

QuickBae: Alternate, you better let go of both of them right now!

Alternate: You all better stay back or I promise, I will end them both right here and now

Aeres: (sobbing) Kayleb, if this is the end I just want to let you know that I am in love with you. I have loved you ever since the

day I met you and I am still in love with you

Hearing this shattered Ali and Kayleb didn't even know how to react to what Aeres had just said to him;

Alternate: Shut up girly (screaming at Aeres)

Joey: Please Alternate, let them go!

Alternate: How ironic is this? At first you were all boasting on how you would all put a stop to me permanently and now, you are all pleading with me?!

Presh: Please Alternate, If you want anyone captive then take me instead

Alternate: You had your chance to join me but you didn't, so I am sorry but No! I won't accept your offer. Rather, I will just end the both of them right here

Kayleb: Alternate! I swear if you harm them, then I will...…

Alternate: (Interrupting) Then what? What will you do? I have told you before and I will say it again, you are weak QuickBae!

After saying this, Alternate fractured both the arms of Ali and Aeres and zoomed out of the lair. Team QuickBae came instantly around both Ali and Aeres who were in pain. Presh then looked into their condition with immediate effect;

Kayleb: I now know the force that drives me to my goal, it is love. The love of my friends is what keeps me running! Ali, I need your help one last time buddy. Tell me where Alternate is?

Ali then sensed Alternate who had already sped off at least 20 kilometers away from where they were and told Kayleb his exact location. Kayleb filled with rage started energizing with sparks running all over his body. And with the speed of light, he ran out of the building and went after Alternate. Kayleb this time moved faster than he ever did before. The Force of love driven within him made him attain Mach 19, making him faster than Alternate. QuickBae then almost immediately, reached Alternate's location and dragged him back, close to his lair. QuickBae now used all the skills he learnt so far on Alternate and this time, it really had the impact on him. Alternate was exhausted and could no longer go on anymore. But he refused to end things that way by losing to QuickBae. So he decided to use all his remaining energy to make one last big Spark blast which was big enough to explode and wipe out the ware house along with Sterling city. QuickBae saw no other option in saving the city and his friends but to run in opposite direction at the same velocity of the Spark blast's energy while discharging spark energy from his body. Running in the opposite direction was to negate Kayleb's spark energy charges to that of Alternate's so that the two energies will be attracted to each other; hence towards Kayleb's body since Kayleb and Alternate had the same energy within them. He thought this phenomenon should be able to stop the spark blast from engdagering the city and his friends; even though it may lead to his death. But QuickBae still went through with this plan.

Team QuickBae had managed to treat Aeres's and Ali's wounds and they all came outside when they witnessed what was happening. Kayleb had already started containing the blast energy {after Alternate had released it} inside of him by running in the opposite direction until his body could take it no more. Kayleb then suddenly disappeared. Team QuickBae was heartbroken afterwards especially after Dr Smart lost his speed which finally confirmed that QuickBae had died. Alternate was finally gone as well but at a heroic sacrifice.

SuperKid later returned to his city where he met his dad and explained to him how Quantum Man had come to save himself and Team QuickBae. He also hoped that he would meet his uncle one day. Ali finally told Aeres how he felt about her but was totally okay with Aeres not reciprocating those feelings. Joey gave a conference in QuickBae's honor explaining to the citizens how he had saved them all from Alternate and Dr Smart was finally able to settle the outstanding debt of his employees. Sterling City remained the same and since QuickBae was gone, it was up to the new set of heroes to emerge in Sterling city; Le Vibe and Killer Freeze.

Three months later, Dr Smart urgently called team QuickBae to their newly improved renovated base;

Ali: What is it Doc? You sent urgently for us! (Asking a bit worried)

Dr Smart: You know how we all concluded that Kayleb was dead due to the fact that I lost my speed?

Presh: Yes, that is because you did lose your speed which could only mean that Kayleb is actually dead

Dr Smart: (Smiling as he vibrated his hands at a very high Speed and Velocity) my speed is back! Kayleb is still out there, he is ALIVE!
