I first became aware of a warmth surrounding me. I tried moving, but half of my body was under a heavyweight, so I instead opted to open my eyes.
I was lying inside a small house. There was light coming from a window to my left… I guess it was probably past noon, given the amount of light. To my right, I saw Ling dozing off, cuddling to my side as if I was a precious thing.
I didn’t know where we were, so I tried remembering what had last happened.
It all came to me after a moment.
I had been unfortunate (or stupid) enough to create a hydrogen explosion with chi magic and my limited knowledge of physics. Something I then bowed to not do again unless I was far, far away.
