“Noooooooooooooooo!” Aramis’ scream tore me from my daydream about the future and from sending good luck and well wishes to my Shen Mu in my thoughts. Her face was again twisted into a grotesque mask of hate and avarice. The air surrounding her warped and distorted, as her screaming continued. She ran toward where the figure of my darling was starting to disappear into the crack in the sky. She leaped, her hands grasping nothing but air as he finally left this world. 


The moment he was gone, the air felt immediately colder; the sky began losing its color, becoming nothing more than grey mist where the clouds seemed to vanish into. 


The world was fractured without him in it, I realized. It had been his strength that gave it life and made it real. 


The creature that was Aramis landed heavily on the ground and released another scream of impotency.
