Rebirth and Reincarnation

Marduk’s plan was for me to force Huo Long into compliance using the full power of the ring. But in my spirit, I knew that it was the wrong thing to do. From what little information I had, I understood that the red dragon had been born of a trauma, and causing it any more would not help anyone. 


Therefore, I stared at Huo Long, whose eyes were glued to mine. 


“What now, little girl? Are you not going to force me to comply?” Its tone was scornful and angry. 


‘What are you thinking?’ Selene asked. 


Instead of talking, I answered by lowering the ring. 


Immediately, the red dragon was on me, grabbing me with its tail and ensuring I would not be able to point the ring at it again. 


“Fool!” It gloated. Its eyes glared at the other two humans, who were only now beginning to protest. “Now I will finally rule over the others, nobody will-” 


“When will you stop pretending?” I asked, staring at its face, and thus it reared up at me.
