I sighed, looking at the demolished walls of my city.
I had taken it upon myself to walk around to assess the damage done. Thankfully, there had been no lives lost from the earthquake caused by Mu’s awakening, but the damage done to the city was abysmal and would take us long to rebuild.
Worse yet was the morale of the people. Many felt cheated since our arrival had stopped the fighting altogether. I suppose that we would have to instill some closure before everyone could accept that the war was truly over.
My people had wanted to pay evil for evil, and I assumed that the Huns were in the same spot because Mu had not come back from their side of the battlefield yet.
No sooner had that thought crossed my mind that a hand gently touched mine, and I turned to find my beloved’s chocolate eyes looking at me.
“Missed me?”
