She froze after seeing the scene in front of her. She didn't knew what to do.
Kaitlyn was pointing a dagger at a man. The man was wearing a black mask and a black cap and it was dark out there, so it was quite difficult to see who it was. Her memories went back to yesterday's events. A second later, she broke into sweat.
Is he that person who killed someone in their neighbourhood? Is he that person, whom she saw last night? But his physique and the person's physique from last night was vastly different. But it was quite dark, maybe she mistook it.
A moment later, Kaitlyn stabbed him very hard. Lia gasped in fear. She didn't knew what to do. If she went out there, she would get into trouble. If she wouldn't, then maybe, she means, maybe, Kaitlyn will die. Her brain went numb, as she stood there.
The stabbed was quite hard, Lia felt it. But the person was strong so he easily gained his balance and started attacking her. After few minutes, he was successful in taking the dagger from her hands. Without wasting any time, he stabbed her right arm, then her left.
Lia covered her mouth to avoid making noises. Suddenly she came with an idea. She took out her phone with shaky hands that shaking very badly. She started taking photos.
The man felt someone else was also there. He turned his head and a glimpse of Lia, as she was a second late to hide herself. He smirked.
Lia called the police and the ambulance. She took a look at the scene. The man stabbed Kaitlyn very badly. Blood was gushing from her body. Lia trembled at the sight in front of her.
Soon after the sirens were heard. The man threw the dagger and ran. Lia knew he can't run further, do they will be able to catch him. The ambulance arrived and Lia led them the way. The police cars went to catch the killer. Lia told the officers that he was stabbed by her friend for self defense, so he would not have gone far as he was injured.
Lia went to hospital with Kaitlyn. She cried as she saw her first friendly neighbour got stabbed this badly.
She wasn't allowed to go further, as Kaitlyn was taken to the OT.
She sat there for few hours. Finally the doctor came. She ran to the doctor to ask if she was fine.
"Doctor, h.. how is she?" Her voiced cracked from all the crying. The doctor sighed.
"W.. what happened d.. doctor?" Her voice again cracked, on the verge of crying.
" We are sorry young lady."
"What does that mean?" She whispered in disbelief.
" We cannot do anything. "The doctor looked down.
"WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN!?" Her voice echoed through the silent floor. She couldn't believe that, she was not ready to believe that. She started weeping.
"We know you are broke right now." The doctor tried to console her. But she continued to weep.
" Do she have any family? " Lia said no.
" Doctor. " Someone called from behind. They turned to the owner of the voice.
" Yes. " Turning his attention towards the nurse.
"The young lady there." The nurse pointed at the OT room. "Has donated all her organs to the hospital."
The doctor nodded. Lia thought, maybe Kaitlyn already imagined this would, as she didn't had any family.
"Young lady, you should also go home now." Lia stood there numbly. Her mind was not working. Her tears stopped but her grief was still visible.
She walked down the dark alley, not even caring if she was murdered.
She reached home, opened the door, ran to her room, locked it, sat on the floor and leaned on the door.
After few minutes, she heard some noises downstairs. She lifted her head and remembered that she forgot to lock her main door.
Like what? How can she forget to do something like that? What if it's the killer?
She stood up and took out her scissors from the nearest drawer and held in her hand to attack if it was someone suspicious. She slowly opened the door and headed downstairs without making a noise. When she reached the ground floor, she saw a young lad covered in blood. She was horrified.
She dropped the scissors and ran to aid him. She helped him sit up straight.
"You are so injured." Lia said making sure he was comfortable with the current position.
"We need to hurry to the hospital." Lia was about to go to get her cellphone, when he held her wrist. He mouthed a 'don't go'. Lia bit her lower lip.
"But it will better if we head to the hospital." Lia said softly.
He glared her.
How could he have the strength to glare at her at this state? Lia again bit her lower lip. Being a medical student, it wasn't big deal for her.
She pulled her hand slowly from his hold. And went to get the aiding materials.
She removed his shirt and was faced with the toned abs. Her face was a bit red, but she shrugged it off, as saving him was her first priority now.
She cleaned the wound. It was so deep, it looked like he was being.... Wait what? It looked like he was being stabbed.
Was he a victim or the killer himself?
If he was the killer why would he be here? Maybe to kill her, because he might know she was the one who informed the police and the ambulance. She gulped.
"Ahhh!" She looked down the sound source. She realized she had pressed on his wound very hard.
"Oh sorry." She now pressed on it very slowly.
Soon she bandaged all his wounds.
"I have bandaged all your -" She stopped mid sentence as she saw him dozed off. She sighed.
She moved him in a more comfortable position and wrapped in a blanket.
She went to her room and plopped on her bed. She thought about what happened today. She opened her cellphone and watched the photos she clicked.
All them were not that clear but the attacks were clear.
As she was swiping, she noticed something unusual. She examined more. Then it hit her. Her eyes opened wide.
