Raiden stood in the center and multiple monsters were approaching him. He didn't flinch or get scared at all. Instead, he waited eagerly for their arrival. The sudden urge for destruction had taken over Raiden. He wanted to pay them all back for what they had done to Chido… Takeshi… and everyone else who died because of them.
The few monsters reached him and they came from every direction. Raiden was surrounded by them. He clenched his metal rod which he held in his right hand. And, charged ahead. He hit the monster in front of him with the metal rod on his head.
The monster took the hit head-on and fell
down. He swung the rod toward the one coming beside the previous one, hitting him on the head too. He poured all his strength into those attacks and he was able to make another one fall to the ground.
But, they certainly were not dead.
Raiden turned around and kicked a monster who had come so close to him.
He again swung his rod, hitting them on their head and sending them flying far away.
They were constantly standing up in an instant as if nothing had happened to them. But, Raiden wasn't stopping either. He kept on hitting them and sending them far away.
One monster jumped on him from behind. Raiden barely turned around to take initiative against the upcoming monster.
He tried blocking the attack with his left
arm but the monster took him down with himself. The monster tried to take a bite out of him but he had his left arm against that monster's throat, not letting the monster get any closer.
As he was pinned down on the ground, the fallen monsters again started to get closer. And, this time it was not just those few monsters but many more who also started approaching him due to all the commotion.
Raiden saw the numbers suddenly increasing around him. He pushed the monster away and hit him with his rod.
Raiden got up on his feet and again started swinging his metal rod onto their side. He kept hitting them and pushing them away but the numbers around him kept on increasing no matter what he did.
He was slowly backing off towards the school building as the big horde was approaching him.
He hit as hard as possible and kept on throwing those bunch away. But, as soon as he hit one, another one came ahead.
His constant swinging of the metal rod kept on going on and he kept on backing off as the numbers kept on increasing.
It was the time that he finally had his back against the wall of the school building. He was trapped in that little space. As countless monsters stood against him.
But, he didn't give up. He still, kept on going on his head-hitting streak. His hands were tired but he didn't stop. His eyes saw no option of escape but he didn't stop. The numbers of his enemy didn't decrease but
he didn't stop.
He just didn't stop.
Every single monster in the backside of the school building had gathered at that one spot. And, Raiden stood against all of them, alone.
'I won't stop until I beat the crap out of every single one of you.'
He didn't stop hitting them with his metal bat.
Makie had pushed Raiden towards the upcoming monster and ran away herself.
She ran away as Raiden fell behind his back. She didn't think about what she had done just now and neither did she even look behind.
All she had in her mind was to run away from that place. The memories of what she went through inside the school terrified her. She couldn't stop crying and couldn't think straight at all. All she wanted was for every terrible thing happening around her to stop.
She ran away from where the rain of the monsters was happening. She ran towards the one end of the school. It was easier and safer to go by the outlines of the school instead of going from the inside.
She ran straight until she reached the far end of one side of the whole school. Now, she just had to slowly walk side by side with the wall, and eventually, she will reach the school's front where the exit is.
She had calmed down from the sudden panic attack from before. But, she couldn't stop sobbing still. Takeshi's face kept on coming to her mind. The sweet moments she had spent while they both were dating and suddenly, Takeshi was gone. She couldn't imagine living without him. Still, she wanted to live. Live far away from this place.
She slowly kept on walking straight. She was alive. But, even if she was alive, she looked dead inside.
Time had flown fast when all those things were happening and the sun almost touched the horizon at this point.
Even if it was a slow walk but she finally came by the front side of the school. She emerged out from the shadows of the school and put her foot on the front side of the school. The exit was visible to her but so were those monsters.
About 10 monsters were roaming on the grounds of the school's front area.
She knew what she had to do. She started her slow and silent walk again. She was invisible to the monsters if she didn't make a noise.
She kept on walking by the wall side and halfway crossed the front grounds.
It was about then that a monster came to her side.
She immediately stopped her moment.
The monster didn't seem to have noticed her yet. He just coincidently came by her side.
Makie had herself pinned by the wall. The monster was coming from ahead. All Makie had to do was stand there silently and the monster would pass by her.
The monster reached her. He came directly by her side and she glared at his face.
The face was covered with blood and the smell of rotten meat coming from it.
She couldn't help but think about that scene again, which happened with her inside the school when Takashi died.
Takeshi's final moments flashed through Makie's mind.
The moment where Takeshi was held by multiple monsters.
Monsters with their teeth embedded in every part of his body.
His right hand reached out ahead toward Makie.
He was calling out for her as she was crying and trying to run away from those monsters.
"Maki... Maki..... Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...… Maki...…"
He kept on calling out her name until his last breath.
He had sacrificed himself for Makie.
Just reliving that moment made a big hole in her heart. Tears didn't stop coming and finally came a scream out that she desperately tried to hold on inside.
"TAKESHI!!!!!" She cried out loudly.
Every single monster on the front grounds heard that scream clearly as well as the monster who had just passed by her.
He turned around, snarling. And, dashed toward Makie.
He tried to grab her at first. As soon as his hands touched Makie, she came back to reality and noticed how screwed she was now.
Scream out of fear again came out of her mouth. She struggled to escape away from that monster, but she somehow did so and ran away.
That monster followed her and it didn't take him time to catch up to her. He again tried to grab her.
She tried to push him away but stumbled and fell in the process. She had given quite a good push as she fell.
But, it didn't stop him from again dashing toward her. She was on the lower grounds and couldn't do anything. Her legs stopped moving. She wanted to stand up and run but was unable to do so.
The big monster jumped on her. She screamed and turned her face around in fear. She closed her eyes and waited on the ground for her doom.
Just as she was expecting the monster to attack her. A loud sound of thurst came instead. And, it came from above her.
She opened her eyes and looked behind.
There she found, Raiden standing behind her. He had burst the monster's head by smashing his head into the wall with his metal bat.
"Let's go! We are getting out of this school!"
He said standing taller than ever beside Makie and bright sunlight shone all the blood he was covered in, all over his body.
