Chapter 16

I woke up again. And it felt like the world had frozen over. I attempted to move but my limbs were rigid and it felt like a mountain was resting on my body.

I laid there. Motionless. It was deathly quiet, but it seemed bright out, I could tell that much from beneath my eyelids.

No one seemed to be coming and Raphael wasn't there. I tried to talk myself out of it but, my curiosity won over my fear. I opened my eyes, and immediately regretted it.

Instead of hot stakes, there was freezing cold stakes stabbing themselves repeatedly all over my body. There was a painful numb sensation in my eyes and limbs. I gasped in pain. It wasn't horrible just extremely unpleasant, the constant stabbing of the stakes was enough to cause tears. I was holding on, 'I can do this. Just breathe.' I tried to calm down my heart and breathing but I was hyperventilating. My anxiety of this lasting forever increased and I could barely breathe.

I was shivering and numb and there was stakes in my legs, when I started getting nauseous. I'd heard what vertigo felt like, my dad had it once or twice. I never expected it to feel this bad. I could feel the bed beneath me but the world was spinning and tilting, it wasn't stopping and my hyperventilating increased. All I could do was bear the pain and vertigo all by myself.

Where was Raph? I needed him.

I heard the door slam open and someone come to where I was lying. I was dizzy from the lack of oxygen and the vertigo was definitely not helping. But I could still make out a woman and man's voice. It was not Raphael. But the guy seemed worried.

I heard through my haze of thought the lady mutter, "Where's Lilla when you need her?" 'Lilla. I knew that name.' While I was trying to recall where I had heard it I started convulsing and that saw was cutting through my head again. I heard the voices again.

"Stop it!" I screamed through the tears a pain.

"Where's Raph! I need him"

I screamed and cursed for what felt like forever. I was so tired and throat was raw. But I was desperate. I needed it to stop.

"M-m-make it stop." I whispered through chattering teeth to the air.

"I'm sorry miss but, we don't know how." A different female voice than before spoke. She sounded younger. I tried to focus on things other than the pain and vertigo. The numbness had now changed to a burning, scalding sensation. I was out of tears and my throat was so raw.

I guess I dropped off to sleep, because when I woke up I was standing in a room. It was nicely furnished with two beds, one of them occupied. I looked at the door which had just opened. A guy with tired gold eyes and disheveled black hair, and tanned skin walked in. He threw his shoe at the sleeping form on the bed. A groan came out of the lump.

"Your turn Mark." He sounded more tired than he looked. The lump sat up and revealed another man this one had blonde hair and green eyes. He looked to be in the same condition as the other guy.

Mark, the blonde one looked around seeming confused, "The screaming. Is she?.."

"She's not dead you idiot. But she is finally asleep."

Mark got out of the bed and headed for the door. I wanted to see who the 'she' was, by the scene before my eyes changed.

I was in another room. It looked like it used to be nicely furnished but now, the carpet was in shreds, and the couch and chairs were destroyed. I looked around, trying to see who did this. Then in the corner behind the bed. I saw a brown wolf with jet black eyes. 'Probably a Lycan.' I thought. And I was right. The wolf changed into a tall man, who was completely naked. I mean there was no reason for me to be embarrassed, it's just a dream. Then the guy who had brown hair matching his wolf, and black eyes. Black eyes that locked with mine. 'Okay, so not a dream?'

"Who are you?" The voice that came out of the guys mouth was not what I was expecting. It hissed and the guy seemed to be choking on it. He looked possessed. "Who are you?!" He yelled.

I didn't think I should answer that question so I stayed quiet. And tried to only look him in the face. Which was disturbing in itself, he probably looked handsome once, but he looked extremely ill, and gaunt.

The dream started to change again the door opened to the creepy, possessed guy's room and a woman came in, "Thoma-" the end was cut off but I still knew that the guys name was Thomas.

I waited for the next dream to appear, but I was surrounded by darkness. I turned when I heard a door open and light spilled out of it. I realized that I was in a cell. I looked for it's occupant and saw a small form huddled in the corner now covered with light.

"Your food, mutt." A voice came from the light, I couldn't see who was speaking. The door shut again but before it did I caught sight of the prisoner's face. A young girl she looked like. She had a scar running from her eyebrow to her cheek. Gold hair, and she had weird eyes. I mean I guess you could say that Raphael's eyes were weird but no, the girl's eyes looked like a lion's, black and gold.

The door shut and I found myself outside. It looked like a campsite had gone military. There were tents set up with food and one looked like a medic tent. I looked at where a crowd of people were gathered, I tried to walk but I couldn't move. I focused on the crowd and I all of a sudden appeared there. I looked at the people around the table but I couldn't make out their faces. They were all blurs.

There was only one face I could make out, and it was breathtaking. I hadn't seen him since the kiss, but he was still just as handsome.

Raphael. His gold eyes looked tired and his silver hair looked shaggy and messy. But he still looked incredible. I wanted to go to him and take care of him. Feed him and smooth his hair. And give him a hug. And maybe another kiss.

But I still couldn't move. And it seemed he couldn't see me. The scene started to fade again.

I took one last look at my mate before he disappeared.
