Chapter 25

They got to the airport and boarded their private plane. Duma, the entire time, was amazed at the whole thing, he kept talking about the seats and the TVs and the food. His cheetah eyes wide with this new experience.

Raphael just rested his head on his chair and closed his eyes. Blocking most of what Duma said out. He smiled sadly at how young and innocent Duma was compared to him.

They arrived in Prince George at around noon, which meant they would get to the pack near two p.m.

Raphael walked towards his sports car that he had sent for. He would definitely not damage this steering wheel. He looked to tell Duma to get into the passenger side, when he saw him standing with a worried look on his face.

Raphael took a good look at the young Shapeshifter. He had freckles all over his face, shaggy blonde, almost white, hair. He was tall and lean, around five ft. ten" Raph guessed. His lean body looked small in the Lycan clothes he was wearing, and his cheetah eyes darted around frightened.

Raphael realized that he had a soft spot for the kid.

"Duma." He called, Duma looked up worry in his yellow eyes, "C'mon, you're with me."

Duma sprinted toward the car, which was very fast considering he was a cheetah. He reached for the backseat handle.

"Ah, ah. You can sit in the passenger seat if you want." Duma smiled and raced to the door. Raph shook his head smiling as he got in. They drove in silence for the beginning, which Duma broke by a question.

"So, will I be a prisoner there too?" He asked while looked straight out of the windshield.

Raphael was surprised by his somber tone. He didn't really want Duma to be a prisoner, he could arrange for his cell to be furnished nicely. He shook the thought away. "I don't know." He lied.

'He could stay with me, I could watch him. But I don't know how Brooke would feel.' At the idea of seeing Brooke again he smiled.

"Could we listen to the radio?" Duma asked. Again.

"Fine." He said, trying to sound annoyed, but with the thought of seeing his mate in less than an hour, nothing could annoy him.

Duma turned the radio to 94.3 the GOAT. They were playing "Another one Bites the Dust." Raph tapped his fingers along to it while Duma was tapping his foot.

Raph wondered if Brooke liked music, and what kind?

He arrived at the gates and they recognized him as Beta and let him through. All the time Louis had been in the car behind him, along with the other four Lycans. Raph drove slowly through the pack, there were usually children running and playing, so he wanted to be careful. Duma since they'd entered the pack was again amazed.

"Wow! You live here?"

"You live by a lake!"

These comments and more increased once he saw Raphael's mansion.

"Is that you're house?! Wow."

Raphael couldn't help but laugh at Duma's reaction. Duma turned and looked at him laughing, and smiled.

Raph parked the car, he kept this one in his own garage. He strode toward the garage door when Duma all of a sudden held his ears and groaned in pain. Raph put a hand on his shoulder, "Hey, you okay?" He asked, concerned.

Duma shook his head. "Her scream. It hurts." He was closing his eyes shut. 'Her? Did he mean Brooke? But how could he hear her? He was a Shapeshifter. Why couldn't I hear her? Was it because I'm her mate?'

"Okay, come on follow me." He said. Then opened the door that led to the kitchen. He didn't take his shoes off and ran up the stairs to his room, where Brooke was. Duma in tow. He had just one more corner, he could hear her screams, he turned and saw his Luna.

She looked around early thirties, with short red hair and green eyes. Her soft, pink skin seemed to glow, and power emanated from her. She was a Fae. One of the hidden race the Faerie. Thresh was one of the few Lycans who have ever been mated with a Fae. Her pointed ears were adorned with earrings that hung down to her neck, she wore a gold chain, with an amulet on it. And a short, pink dress that made her look like an otherworldly being, which she was.

"Luna." Raphael said.

"Raphael." A strained smile painted her face.

A long silence followed, in which Raph was getting more and more impatient to see his mate. He could hear her screams and whimpers, smell her distinct scent, all he wanted was to see her and hold her.

"I am sorry Raphael, but you cannot see her." Said the Luna.

Raphael glared at her, then looked down ashamed of what he'd done, but still furious with what she had said. "Why not?" He bit out.

"I am afraid that Thresh needs you in town. Don't worry I will be here, and Nathan and Mark, and Gloria and Rose. She will be safe."

'It's not about her being safe!' He wanted to shout. 'It's about seeing her.' His wolf whined. They needed to see their mate.

"I am sorry." And she did look sorry.

Raphael turned and saw Duma. He had forgotten about him while taking with the Luna. Duma had taken his hands off his ears but he was still wincing, and that meant he was still feeling pain from Brooke's screaming.

Raph was not quite sure what to do with him. He could take him with him, but then Duma could run off into the city if Raph's back was turned. He could leave him here, but that would mean near Brooke, and he didn't necessarily want that.

"Duma, could you? Would you?

Can-" He sighed, Duma had said he really didn't want to stay in the cells, "I'm gonna need you to stay in the cells."

Duma inhaled sharply and looked at him, "Just till I get back, then we can try to see if you can stay here. With me."

Duma looked hesitant but nodded, "Okay."
