Chapter 37

We were now on our way to Prince George to do some shopping.

I had woken up without Raph having his arms around me, to which I almost panicked. But I soon heard noises coming from the closet. I got up and walked towards it, my eyes squinting at the light. I stood in the doorway and saw Raph packing.

"Where are you going now?" I asked, my voice still rough from sleep.

"It's not where I'm going, but where we're going." He said, looking at me with nearly crazed smile.

"Raph, did you get any sleep last night?" I asked, slightly worried about his mental well-being.

"Uh huh, I woke up an hour ago." He replied, as he put his backpack on the couch. "I was gonna pack yours but, I thought you might want to do that."

"O-okay. But first you have to tell me where we're going." I said this all very slowly, trying to get my point across.

Raph looked at me, his golden eyes felt hot on my skin, I looked away from his intense gaze.

"We're going to see your family." He said seriously.

I should've felt overjoyed at the idea of seeing my family, but the first thing that popped into my mind was, "What are we gonna tell them?" My voice rose in panic.

"Hey, it's okay, I've got a plan." Raph said reassuringly, he walked over and put his hands on my shoulders. His touch on my skin sent a wave of heat down my body. I gasped lightly at the feeling.

I cleared my throat trying to remember what he'd said, "What's your plan?" My voice shook a little.

I looked up at Raph's eyes, they looked like they'd darkened. And when he spoke his voice was lower than usual, "You were kidnapped by someone but you escaped, I found you unconscious on the side of the road and nursed you back to health."

"But what about us? Th-the whole mate thing?" I asked.

A smile crept onto his face, then he leaned forwards and whispered in my ear, "Then I guess we'll just have to fall in love." His breath had tickled my ear so I put my hand to my neck just below.

I blushed at his proximity, and what he had said. "Fall in love." I couldn't tell if I was already in love with him or falling in love with him.

He stared at me a little while longer, his gaze still dark, with what? I didn't want to guess.

He turned suddenly, and said, "You should pack, and get changed."

"Okay." I said then entered the closet. I was about to begin packing when I realized, that Raph had stolen all of my clothes, and if my family saw that I was wearing the clothes he'd stolen, then they'd start asking questions.

"Raph." I walked out of the closet, "Raph!" I called.

-Getting in the shower.- He replied.

-Ah.- The thought of him being in the shower made me embarrassed and giddy, for some reason. -Raph, I can't bring these clothes.- I told him.

-Why not?- I heard the water turn on. I explained my dilemma. -Oh, yeah that makes sense.- he said, then paused. I tried to read his thoughts but he was hiding them from me. 'So he figured out how to do that, did he?' I thought slightly annoyed.

-I guess we'll have to go shopping before we leave.- He said.

-Really?- I asked trying to contain my excitement. I was a picky buyer, but I loved going shopping.

I heard him laugh, -Yes.- He said with a smile in his voice. I smiled and squealed silently. I got changed into a shopping outfit; comfy shoes and easy to take off clothes.

And now here we were, on our way to Prince George. We had left once we made sure to say goodbye to Duma and the brothers, also making Nathan and Mark promise to look after Duma.

I put on Twenty-One Pilot's latest album and was mouthing the words to it. We hadn't talked about anything, which was awkward, but I didn't know what to talk about.

"What kind of clothing stores do you have here?" I asked trying to start a conversation on this dull, drive.

"To be honest, I have no idea." He said, then looked at me smiling, his silver hair was still wet from his shower, and glistened in the blue light of the cloudy day outside.

After driving in silence we finally arrived in the city, and I was shocked. It really was a city. It was bigger than my hometown. Raphael parked in front of a mall, my town didn't even have a mall, all we had was a Walmart and that was pretty much our biggest store.

There were clothing and shoe stores on almost every corner, I was so happy. I clutched onto Raph's arm and we walked through them. I would spot a few that I liked, the only things I got were five pairs of jeans, two pairs of sweatpants, a nice pair of capris, some pajamas and ankle socks, three bras and two packs of underwear. I went into the lingerie store alone, while Raph was elsewhere. Apparently Raph was rich. I guess I should've gotten the hint from his mansion.

I forget that whenever I went clothes shopping I always felt fat, looking at all of the skinny models and small clothes. We got to the next one and I walked through the entrance glumly.

Raph, who had been laughing and smiling with me the entire time, touched my shoulder, "Hey, you okay?" He asked.

I nodded, "Mmhmm." I hummed.

"We can go to a different store if you want." He asked concerned. I looked up into his worried gold eyes. 'You never have to worry about being ugly, you're perfect.' I thought, feeling depressed.

I looked at the mannequin standing in the middle of the store, the shirt it was wearing was nice, and it might look nice on me so I let go of Raph's arm and walked forward. I began picking through the racks, trying to find one in my size. I sighed disappointed, no larges.

I looked around the rest of the store and spotted something else; a dark red, long sleeve shirt, similar to the one I wore yesterday but this one had a v-neck, I always liked v-necks, they showed off my attractive breasts and collarbone.

I may not like that my breasts got in the way of everything, but I knew they were attractive. And I loved the colour of the shirt.

-I'm gonna try a shirt on.- I told Raph.

-Okay.- Was his answer.

I came out looking great, the material was thick and soft, it still showed my stomach, but from the front it looked great. I loved it.
