Chapter 65

Raphael glanced over and saw his mate sleeping on the couch, notebook and pen still in hand. His heart warmed at how she'd wanted to help.

She truly was precious.

He closed his laptop for the day and carried her to the bed. She was already wearing her pyjamas so he didn't have to worry about that. He changed into his pjs and decided that he would sleep with her tonight. He crawled in and slept a foot away from her.

~~~~~~~~
I woke up feeling disoriented again. I was on the bed, though I clearly remember falling asleep on the couch in his office.
I turned and saw Raph's sleeping face. I stared for what felt like forever. He was shirtless underneath the blanket and I could see that perfectly chiseled chest of his. I swallowed.
His eyes fluttered open and he grinned, "Enjoying the view?" He asked.
I smiled, it was one of the first things he ever said to me, after I shot him in that perfect chest.
"Very much so, yes." I replied nodding my head. His grin widened.
He stretched and got up from the bed, revealing his toned back muscles and biceps. I smiled nervously, he was perfect.
The days passed quickly, I continued to help Raph and learned a lot more about Lycans and the Pack.
One day I was reading a report that said: Crater Pack: Healers and Stealth needed: September 5th.
"What does healer and stealth mean?" I asked Raph, I had an idea that they were doctors and like, black ops Lycans or something, but that was weird.
"You don't know?" He asked, not looking up from his laptop.
"No." I answered.
He closed his laptop and came to sit next to me. I snuggled in and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders.
"We'll there are a few different kinds of Lycan abilities, or gifts. The most common being warrior, then hunter, next healer, strategists and then stealth."
"What do they do?" I asked, although it was evident enough from their names.
"We'll, the first, warriors; they are naturally stronger than most and have fairly large wolf forms. They have a natural ability to fight and have a tendency to enjoy it. Mark, is a warrior Lycan."
"Really? And he was so bad at Halo." I said dumbfounded.
Raph chuckled, "Yeah, he was."
He cleared his throat and continued, "We have a head, or leader, for each ability, Louis is my head warrior. He's proven himself as a strong leader and is a very good fighter. Although he frightens me sometimes." He said jokingly.
I gasped, "You scared?! No!"
"Yes, his bloodlust can be concerning."
I pulled a face, "Ew."
"Moving on, next is the healers. You met two, Gloria and…"
"Lucy." I finished for him.
"Yeah, now healers are just naturally gifted at helping others medicinally, but they can also heal little cuts and scrapes. The head healer's name is Lilla, and she actually went to medical school and everything. Her mate is the head hunter. Now hunters are very big, James, the head, is seven feet tall, and most other hunters differ along there. But their wolves are small and streamlined. They have heightened senses-"
"I thought you had heightened senses?" I asked, thinking that all werewolves, Lycans, had stronger senses.
"I do," He said with a smile, "But hunters have even stronger senses. They can smell things from miles away and see better in the dark, and they also have better hearing. Nathan is a hunter."
By the way he was going on about them, I'd say he wishes he was a hunter. What was he?
"Next is strategists, which is what I am. I'm the head strategist and," He sighed, "Strategists are just pretty much smart Lycans that don't have much of a gift."
I smiled doubtfully at him, "Well, I don't mind smart people." I gave him a little kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you." He said.
"We're just pretty much in charge of studying Elves and Shapeshifters, and other creatures, so that we can come up with a winning strategy to win." He pursed his lips, apparently he wasn't happy with his gift. I didn't know how to encourage him though.
"What's next?" I asked grabbing his hand.
"Uh, stealth. Stealth is next. Now, I've never really understood how they work, but I know the basics. Thomas, our Gamma, is the head. They have the ability to block their scent, and when they shift they can camouflage. Their wolves are fairly small and they are one of the rarest Lycans."
He stopped, seemingly finished.
"What's Thresh?" I asked.
Raph's golden eyes stared into the distance, pursing his lips again.
"Thresh… is different." He said slowly.
"Different how?" I asked, wondering if he even had a gift.
"It's hard to explain." He said, trying to avoid the question.
"Or you just don't want to." I said as I moved away from him so I could look him in the eye.
"Yes, there's that too." He said with a teasing smile. I gawked at him.
"I'll just ask him myself then." I said, determinedly.
Raph chuckled, "You do that, but don't say I didn't warn you."
The rest of the day passed slowly, working on filing reports.
A few more days passed and it was finally my twentieth birthday!
I rolled over in the bed smiling, and cuddled closer to Raph's sleeping form. He stirred then whispered in a tired voice, "Happy Birthday."
'He remembered! And he knew? How did he know?' I wondered, 'Bradley probably told him.' I kissed his forehead, "Thank you."
Once he was awake enough he told me to wait here till he came back. I could only assume I was getting breakfast in bed. And I was right!
He brought me a tray and everything. I liked sweet breakfasts so he made me cinnamon rolls. I could tell they were homemade.
"Aw! This is soo sweet! Thank you Raph!" I hugged him, being careful of the tray.
"When's your birthday?" I asked I between mouthfuls.
"Why? Am I gonna get breakfast in bed too?" He asked.
"Maybe," I said coyly, "When is it?"
"Twenty-seventh of January."
I smiled and gave him a little peck on the lips, even though my mouth would probably taste like cinnamon rolls.
