Chapter 135

"Here comes the bride, here comes the bride."

I smiled at Thomas's entrance.

"Good morning Thomas." I said with a laugh in my voice as I finished watering one of my beautiful indoor plants. I only had five and they were all somehow still alive.

"Aw, how'd you know it was me? By my lovely singing voice?" He asked as he walked through the doorway into the living room.

"Sure, but wouldn't here comes the best man be more suited?" I asked as I reached on my toes to try and water my hanging plant.

Thomas came up behind me and took my watering can, "Hmm, maybe. But I decided that that song was better."

I smirked, amused at his words, "Not too much." I said as he watered the high plant. He stopped and handed me the watering can, "Thank you."

"Oh, I have a late gift for you two." He said as he pulled a thin package out from his coat.

I quirked my brows, "A gift? But you already got us matching towels and a candle." I said with a giggle.

"Yes, I did. This was my mother's," He held out the package in his hands, "Now open it." He handed me the wrapped gift.

"Your mother's?" I asked holding the package, "Shouldn't this be something you save for your mate?"

"Nah, my mom had tons of stuff."

I watched him for a couple seconds then I carefully peeled off the wrapping paper.

A smile painted my face, "Aw, thank you."

The gift was a framed photo of us at the wedding, I hadn't seen this picture of us yet.

"I didn't know your mother was at our wedding." I said jokingly as I placed the frame on the mantle.

"Ha ha ha." He said stiltedly.

My smile broadened, "Thank you Thomas, it's a lovely picture frame, and picture."

"Mmhmm, yeah. Anyway, speaking of weddings, where is the groom?" Thomas asked, mischief in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes, "My husband, is upstairs. But Thomas, please be careful with him."

He waved his hand, "Oh, yeah of course, I mean the man just broke his body, I'll be careful."

I had a feeling he was lying but Raph could handle it I was sure.

"Alright, tell him I'll be at Charm's and Thresh's."

"Yes, ma'am." I heard him say as I shut the front door behind me.

"The Lycan we found dead in the Haven was a young warrior who'd just had his first shift. We still have no idea how he got inside." Alpha Ditri said.

We were currently having a zoom chat in Thresh's office upstairs.

"We've tested the stones and have figure out that they work both ways, we can go inside the Haven, and exit it using them, we've asked the Faerie if they'd let us use them, to figure out how and where each of them work but…" He shook his head, "They've said no. Another thing, if the young boy who had been killed, his name was Peter, had gotten ahold of a stone where was it at the murder sight?" He asked.

I sucked in a long breath and let it out then sneezed. I reached for another Kleenex, my allergies were really bad today.

"I don't know…" Thresh said in a low voice, "Is there any news on the Faerie's plan so far?"

Ditri shook his head, "Onyx says that they're still debating it. To be honest Alpha, I'm not sure if they'll ever come to a decision. They are not a violent people and I'm not sure they know what to do in this situation. No offence Luna." He added.

Charm looked at Thresh and he nodded, she spoke, "No, you are right. I would like to visit again, to talk over things with them. I am not quite sure they remember the first great war with the Elves. It was not easy." She sighed, "I am afraid that they are not taking this matter seriously. If those stones are missing, th-then they need to be found. In the cave there should be matching pairs, if all of them are accounted for then all is well, but if they are not-" She licked her lips agitatedly, "Then I do want to imagine who might have them in their hands."

The room went silent as we all knew who might have them in their possession.

Elves.

"Agreed." Ditri said gravely, "I'll update you if anything else comes up, but before I go," He turned to look at me on the screen, I moved the laptop so he didn't as hard a time, you could tell that he was using a desktop computer, "Hi, Brooke right?"

The corners of my lips rose, "Yes, it's Brooke."

"Yeah, how's your mate doing?"

I nodded, "Raph's doing good, he's stubborn and has tried to walk more than once without his crutches so we've threatened to strap him to the bed but… yeah, he's doing good. Gloria, one of our healers says that he's healing faster than a human but slower than a Lycan so… yeah, he's frustrated with that…" I chuckled softly.

"Well, you tell him to hang in there." Ditri said then after waving goodbye to Thresh and Charm he closed the chat.

I sneezed, and then sneezed again, "Sorry, my allergies are just awful today."

Charm and Thresh looked at me with confused expressions.

"What are you allergic to?" She asked.

I huffed a laugh, "At this point in my life…" I nodded, "I'd say everything that grows and dies, rain and dust."

"Oh, dear." She said covering her mouth, "That's awful."

My eyebrows scrunched together, "Well, I've lived with them my whole life and I'm still alive, anyway-" I turned to Thresh, "You said that you recognized those stones, I assume that Charm would recognize them too since she knew that they each have matching pairs. Where did you know them from?" I asked.

He sat down on the green couch, "When me and Charm met, she had been outside the borders and had used one of those stones to…" He paused and Charm looked at her feet, but more at her swollen belly.

"Well, she used them to escape the Protectors." He explained.

I nodded.

The room was quiet.

"Did your people figure it out? Or have they just been hidden this entire time?" I asked Charm.

"I hid them all over the Haven, in an attempt to keep them from my people, we are not allowed to leave the Haven, we were not allowed to leave, now they can if a Lycan goes with them."

I pondered this, "So the two Faerie who died, they found these stones and used them to get out?"

Charm and Thresh looked at each other intently, "I suppose so…" Thresh said.

"Then… how did the Elves get in?" I asked, I already knew the answer.

"Did the two Faerie give them, the stones?" I asked. The other two were being very silent.

"If that is true, then-" Charm covered her mouth.

"The have free passage into the Haven." Thresh finished.

I nodded. This was not good.
