Chapter 177

Raph pulled cookie dough ice cream out of the cooler and I hugged him again.

He continued to pull food out; some Doritos, which are his favourite. Some Caesar salad, yum! Two things of pop and some Swiss cheese, both our favourite.

After settling down on the blanket for the picnic next to each other we began to eat.

"I'm sorry for jumping you." I said with a blush as I focused on my salad.

"Hmm, I don't mind. You certainly have been hungrier lately." He stated in a casual tone.

I looked up at him nervously, "I'm sorry, I don't know why but I-"

He gave me a kiss, "I do not mind. I will be here for your every need."

I blushed and giggled, luckily he knew that my default reaction was laughter.

After finishing our yummy meals I looked up at him, "What we gonna do now?"

He stood and helped me to my feet then covered my eyes with his hands, I liked this a lot better than the blindfold. I told him as much and he chuckled.

After we'd walked for a bit he removed his hands from my eyes and moved them to my waist.

Before me was a target painted onto a tree, and at my feet were bows and arrows.

I licked my lips as a smile came to play on them, "Is this you teaching me archery?"

"Yep." He said and I heard the sound of arrows clacking together.

"You see, those don't look like the hard plastic arrows that I shot you with, those look like wooden arrows, with actual pointed heads." I said trying to make him realize.

"Uh huh." He said as he tied the quiver loosely around his waist giving him a bit of a gangster look, a gangster with a bow and arrow, but a gangster nonetheless. A very attractive look on my husband.

"Would you like help?" He asked and I raised my eyes to look at his.

Blinking I responded, "Yeah, sure."

He helped to tie the leather quiver around my waist then he showed me the arrows, "These are the blunted ones." He showed me an arrow that did not look blunted in any way and could certainly kill someone.

"Honey, that's not blunted." I said holding it up to show him.

"Sure it is." He said confidently.

I laughed, "You do remember the first time we met, don't you? I shot you, it was a lucky shot but I did shoot you."

He laughed and turned me to face the target, a bow now placed in my hands.

"Then let's get your aim right so you don't shoot your mate." He whispered in my ear and I laughed turning back to look at him.

"Face the target, come on." He said not seriously at all.

"Alright, alright." I said still giggling as I turned to face the target, stretching the bowstring as I did, "Woah, kay. That's a lot tighter than I thought." I said as I restretched it.

He watched me silently, then when I finally had it pulled all the way back, the arrow in between my fingers, he came and stood next to me, adjusting my stance gently and telling me why he was doing it, he was a great teacher.

When I was ready I closed my one eye and focused on the target.

"Remember to aim." Raph said behind me.

"Oh please, I have great aim I shot you in the chest perfectly." I said giggling again.

"Yeah, point blank." He said chuckling behind me.

"Hey!" I turned around, lowering my bow, and hit him in the chest, "That's because you were running so fast."

"It wasn't like I was gonna tackle you." He grabbed my hand and held it to his chest, who knew when I shot that chest so long ago, I would become so intimately acquainted with it.

"Maybe…" I replied looking up at his hypnotic, golden orbs, "I thought you were going to kill me." I said with a wry smile.

He kissed the top of my head and turned me to face the target once again, "You're precious."

I smiled warmly at his compliment and raised my arms once again to shoot the target.

Releasing the arrow I hit the tree. Lower by a few feet from the target, but I hit the tree.

"Yay!" I said happily jumping up and down. He laughed and hugged me close.

After a few more minutes of target practice the rest of the day passed with us playing chess. He won every single time. I had told him when he'd taught me to play never to lose on purpose, and so in turn I never win but, the expression on his face is absolutely adorable every single time he wins. I never win but I do get farther every time, although maybe he's going easy on me, I dunno.

Overall it was a good day and we went home and made love.... way more than once.

These were the happy days, the ones I wish I could've lived in forever. But life had different plans, and as you know life is never easy, and in my case, it was set on legendary.
