The Suspicion

"Sir, thank you so much for coming!"

I gently touched Evo's shoulder to show him how much I cared. "Sir, do you think the murderer got away?" Evo asked.

I muttered, "Perhaps," with a hint of doubt. "I'll watch the security camera footage to find out who broke into your house. Just be careful for now. Don't trust anybody."

As we left the guardhouse, I gave him a smile with just a hint of amusement. I did this by slightly curling my lips. I was surprised when I saw a police officer waiting calmly for Evo and his respected uncle. As we got closer, they turned to look at us. Their eyes were set and eager as if time had stopped. As they talked, their voices filled the air until we came closer, and they stopped talking all at once. With a quick glance, I looked at Evo.

'Could he read these two people's minds?' I thought

Once more, I looked at his uncle and the blue-clad officer standing next to him.
