Temujin sat thinking about the swirly-eyed wizard while Pandora laid her head on his arm asleep. He looked outside to see the long skinny arms running and pushing the train. "She is so cute," Catherine said, seeing the girl sleeping. Temujin nodded and pushed a hair out of the child's mouth.
The train started slowing down and then they got out of their compartment with Temujin carrying her while she was still sleeping. "You should wake her up," Catherine asked.
Luckily the girl felt her body being moved, Pandora yawned and rubbed her eyes. "Are we there yet?" The Phoenix slayer placed the girl on her feet and looked at the city. The buildings were gothic in design towers rose above them almost blocking the sun with a floating cube with rooms changing position at a whim in the middle and then shots were heard.
Catherine sighed. "Sounds like the first class just graduated." Alexander nodded and Temujin simply tightened his fist; as heat around started to rise, but not because of the Phoenix slayer.
Pandora looked confused. "How do you know that?" Not understanding what the gunfire had to do with it, she sniffed and noticed the smell of sulfur was strong here, not only that but a constant wind kept flowing, if they were inside a large river.
Temujin looked her in the eyes. "I will explain it to you when you're thirteen." She nodded and then pouted (once he removed his sights from her), that she had to wait a thousand years (for her little world).
Catherine got two medals out. "Here you go, sir."
Alexander's face pulled together, annoyed at seeing the medals. "You better put our medals on before we go further." Both Godkiller took a single medal and placed it, causing multiple and steel Epaulettes to form and Catherine chuckled as she saw the normally relaxed and or bored god killers now looked like the stick in the mud they hated more than anything, was now up their butts. Now their uniform had multiple medals, Golden Stitchings for Alexander and Red for Temujin's and by both the end of their sleeves had the same color. "You look so handsome."
"Shouldn't you be wearing one too?" Pandora asked, causing both older slayers to take on a smirk. In a few moments, Catherine was wearing almost the same clothing as the two senior god killers only with fewer medals and there was the youngest who didn't have any.
"I hate this," Catherine said, scratching her legs as her skirt had turned into a pair of pants. "Why do people wear these?! It's just leg strangling torture!" She asked as they walked, both Godkillers now regretting having put the medal on her, because of nagging. Stepped under the floating cube,
Pandora just stared at it, before the floor under them started to float upwards into the cube, and the under part of the cube opened in a blinding light. She rubbed her eyes and looked around her eyes, starting to get used to the glowing walls of the room. "Good day, what is your name?" Pandora look for the origins of the soft and kind voice
Pandora gulped and looked at Temujin. "Sir where is the voice coming from?" She asked and she got her answer.
"I am Superego and the guardian of the god slayer's records, now please tell me what your weapons are and what slayer you are." Pandora gulped feeling her skin crawl at the voices coming from the walls.
"Um, a scissor and needle and I'm a Levithan slayer." Temujin chuckled at his apprentice's error and so did the two other god killers but not out of malice more so because of how adorable it was.
A humming sound was heard before an eye flew around her and returned to the wall. "Threat level: goblin fish. Strength: E, intelligence: 106, Emotion: Happy, Gender: Female, Blood type: O- Potential: Gold Ore.
"Gold ore?" Pandora asked not understanding half of it and being offended that this voice called her a Goblin. "I'm not a Goblin! I'm still growing, you jerk." She pouted and sat down on the floor, her arms crossed.
The voice continued. "Temujin. Threat level: Sun god. Strength: Triple S, intelligence: 124, Emotion: Neutral, Gender: Male, Blood type: AB+, Potential: Platinum."
"Catherine. Threat level: Tsunami. Strength: S, intelligence: 123, Emotion: Neutral, Gender: Female, Blood type: O+, Potential: Steel"
"Alexander: Threat level: Storm god. Strength: Triple S, intelligence: 121, Emotion: Lust, Gender: Male, Blood type: A, Potential: Platinum"
Catherine smiled. "I got smarter?" She said with a smug surprised expression gave her master a smirk.
"I'm old, I don't need your smirking, Hey Superego, we finished our mission and I hate to meet with the general who gave us the cursed list." A door opened to a Completely black room and there were three glass towers only one Glowed with light.
They stepped in and a booming voice spoke. "Welcome God Slayers!"
Alexander looked annoyed and Temujin just shot the box causing it to shatter into a million pieces and there sat a man in the same uniform only he had a medal saying. 'Grand general of the south.' He stood up sighing. "I know what you're thinking."
Temujin answered. "You let Edgar redesign this place didn't you?" The Grand general sighed.
Alexander looked around. "Seriously Bill, why?"
Bill looked to his upper right. "He was going to the northern front and has been requesting it for months." Alexander raised a brow. "I was the only one here and it was his birthday."
Temujin groaned. "Grow a spine."
"Hey, everyone else went on a gap year and disappeared and Tiffany is on the eastern front so I'm stuck here with paperwork!" Both gulped and both apprentices for the first time saw their masters showing fear.
Catherine gulped as the other two glass boxes went down to reveal the paperwork they had missed. "Take these and get out. I need to focus on replenishing the treasury and get your apprentice registered." He pointed to Temujin and the floor under them fell.
Pandora screamed before Temujin spawned fire under his feet, Catherine wrote into her notebook and she floated down gently, while her master summoned a mirror standing on it and flew down.
"Well, you guys are stuck here huh?" Catherine asked both masters, nodding.
Temujin walked to the paperwork and saw most of it were expense reports. "WHY?!" he yelled as Alexander looked over his stack and sighed with his being mostly property destruction.
Catherine looked at some "Sir I told you to stop drunk bowling, it just gets you to pay too much." Temujin filled out the paperwork within a few hours. So did Alexander after getting help from Catherine.
Pandora yawned. "So what now?" Temujin pulled out a book from a pocket and then unfoldeding to four times its size, then the pages expanded.
"Some real Godkiller training!" He said, leading them to a training area, while Catherine had left for an important interview. "First I will teach you to mold your element, like this." He formed a fireball in his hand and then made it into a blade-like shape, finally turning it into a firebird. "The easiest step is a line." He turned his fire into an arrow and launched into the air, hitting a bird and when it hit the ground it was cooked.
"Did you expect that?" Alexander asked, completely confused at the roast falling from the sky.
"Yes, of course." He lied but his apprentice was amazed all the same. "Now Pandora concentrates on creating a line of water. Imagine it being clay and mold it."
She closed her eyes and instead of water bubbles forming around them the grass dried out, as water was being sucked out and the line formed. She opened her eyes excitedly. "I did it!" She said with glee and then saw the grass around them had died out.
Temujin chuckled. "Alex did this happen when you were training Catherine?" Alexander nodded.
She looked as the smell of dried leaves spread. "I did this?" She stepped and leaves all erupted to dust.
Alexander chuckled. "It means you need to practice control, all Leviathan slayers have the same issue. Don't worry, ok?" Pandora nodded her mouth feeling dry as she looked at the at line as it splashed down to the ground.
Temujin chuckled. "I will teach you how to launch it once, you can do that without concentration. Now summoned you scanvers weapons." he said Instandly summoning his one and so did Pandora. "Now every scanvers weapon is unique but some abilities are the same. Water and air elements are at their best at long range, while fire and earth are best at short range." Pandora nodded, understanding some of it as he looked at her scissors. He kneeled down and pulled out a blade of grass that wasn't dried. "Now concentrate on this." He said and as she stared at it, taking in every detail he could, but her concentration went to her master's hand, his palms calloused and while the rest was scarred.
Pandora looked at the blade of grass again. "Master, why are your hands like that?" He froze and let the blade go. "I'm sorry if I—"
He interrupted. "No, don't worry. It's just a lifetime of existing I guess." He said looking at his palm. His hands were like hand Papier now, what person would want to hold these hands now? Ridges were like a canyon sweat being the rivers and his effort being the time at carved them perfectly.
Alexander whispered into his student's ear. "The scars are because he sucks at the knife game." Temujin launched a dense ball of fire at him, knocking him a few feet away, yet not burning him. "What was that for?!" He demanded.
"Don't ridicule me in front of my apprentice!" Alexander waved his hand at temujin, causing a gust of wind to push him into the air. "Oh please." He created two balls of fire under his feet, flying down.
Alexander. "How a demonstration of molding our elements?" He pointed his index finger, Temujin created a shield of fire, which enginited the pressurized air and hit launching Temujin in the air before landing on his feet.
Pandora looked amazed at Alexander who was fighting invisible. "How did he do that? I didn't see any of his attacks!" Temujin walked to her, smelling of ash. "Are you alright sir?" He nodded, sitting down panting.
Alexander placed a sour candy in his mouth. "He is not used to molding his element much, defense when he has too, offense always his gun." Temujin nodded, pulling out a flask with hot tomato soup, both the Godkiller and apprentice started as their belies growled, once they took in the sweet smell.
He burst out laughing. "How did we forget to get something to eat? Oh I'm a really bad master aren't I? No pity, let's get some lunch and continue with Pandora." He led them to a restaurant, owned by a man with pure red hair and eyes green as when the sun meets the ocean.
"Oh, Temujin and Alexander the god generals. What do you want today?" He looked at Pandora. "Who's this little angel?" He scanned the dark haired girl. "Who's your apprentice are you, little girl?" She pointed at Temujin as she was a bit intimidated by the huge man.
Temujin smiled. "It's been long huh Finn?" He said holding his gun ready.
The large man chuckled. "Aren't you a bit too ugly for an apprentice this cute?" Temujin pointed his gun at the man's face and he pulled the trigger, only to have a flag saying boom pop out. "Still the same Temmy, that doesn't get old." Temujin laughed and made his gun disappear. "Your favorite?" Temujin gave him a smile and he gave a quick nod. "You Alexander?"
He took the menu. "I will have the Salmon in honey and garlic." He said placing it down.
"And the little maiden?" He said, taking on a baby voice.
He pouted but looked at the menu. "Fried octopus?" He chuckled and took the menu to the kitchen. "Sir, what are god generals?" He sighed trying to explain the military hierarchy of their nation.
"On the top are five grand generals, there's the lord of the north, south, east, west and center. They control the armies in those directions, with the lord of the center being the defence; After them are the god generals, we are living weapons last resort as we are too dangerous to use and based on where we are and the armies, we take orders from the general." His meal came with a Steak with mashed potato and gravy on top.
So Alexander continued. "Yea, so we are only sent to the fronts when it's a last resort, or the enemy summons some kind of horror or an armor that is a mix between machine and magic that is the size of a four story building." He pointed to a picture of a group of godkillers, posing next to a gigantic helmet. His and Pandora's meal came, both were too interested in their food to continue with the conversation.
Temujin was done with his meal and then came Catherine with a broken look in her eyes. "They said I'm over qualified." She said taking the beer Finn gave her.
He smiled. "Red serpent, it's been long since you last came here! I mean you were flat as a board when you last came here!" Catherine was too sad to get angry at the comment about her chest. "Oh poor you, it's natural your Scavengers tool is almost the same as Edgar! Do you know he destroyed the eastern front?" Catherine called her tool as the steam and water turned into a pen, writing down more words to use when she was sent to one of the fronts.
Temujin finished. "You know, you could join the medics. Aren't Leviathan slayers natural healers?" She nodded and then they heard roaring and they came out to see a dragon flying over the city with scales of rainbows, and wings with feathers made of pure white wings.
Catherine stared at the beast. "Shouldn't we run?" She said, still staring at the beast.
Temujin smiled. "A dragon of light." He was amazed at seeing the dragon. "No, it's a passive beast that can't be killed. It's said that a light dragon only appears when a new era begins, I hope it's a good one for us." He looked at Catherine. "How about you join me and Pandora?" She looked shocked.
"Wait, why?" She asked, almost falling from the surprise.
Temujin shrugged. "I need someone to keep an eye on Pandora and Alexander will be sent south so, why not? You can be a teacher and get paid." She hugged him, smiling.
