Chapter 16

"Time always leaves traces."

The seasons changed and soon it was autumn. Frost clung to the branches that were outside the window, and her breath came out in white puffs that danced lazily for a brief moment before disappearing, her skin broke out in goosebumps from the cold yet she continued to ignore it.

Slowly, she removed the covers and Emma shivered uncontrollably for a moment, taking a few deep breaths she continued for a few minutes before she grabbed to her dressing gown, grabbing her clothes and heading into her bathroom; setting down her towel on the rack and washing her face, taking in a deep breath due to the cold water. Grabbing the betel powder made of betel nut, mixed with charcoal.

After she had finished with her morning routine, she continued to get changed, her movements slow, almost sluggish.
