She felt frozen; the cold nipped at her skin. Her throat was hoarse and her lips were cracked. 

The air crackled with frost.

She looked up, the shadow of the man she hated stood in front of her. A twisted smile on his face. 

“If I cannot have you, then no one shall,” he whispered. 

She closed her eyes.

The Flora That Grew

Lord Vinal walked towards the waiting room, he had been informed by one of the maids that this was the person he had approved of. As he neared the door a slight nervousness filled him, but this was to be expected as he always is quite nervous around new people - yet he was finding it difficult to open the door and meet the lady. He thought back to her application, she had a strong foundation and the necessary experience. Although, she didn't have as much experience with dealing with children as he would've liked all the other aspects were strong so Conner was going to give this lady a chance.


He inhaled and exhaled. Gently, turning the doorknob and Conner saw her. He was glad to be able to put a face to Mrs Rowe; although she was not what he expected, he expected a much more strict-looking woman, especially with such an experience-filled application.
