Chapter 1 - 8 of the novel is essentially just a prologue of the novel and it does not impact it too much, so you can skip it if you're averse to things like torture or anything that could induce negativity. 
Then again, I am not saying that chapter 1 to chapter 8 are less important but some readers might not like it as I've discovered. So I thought about putting it here just in case.
But if you don't mind checking it out, then go ahead and read from chapter 1 at your own risk.

Blood Assimilation

Liena and Brawler Randy had finally dug a hole, deciding to place the bodies of the Flame Werewolves in it. At this moment, Liena stood at the side as Brawler Randy decided to drain their blood using his Blood Siphon technique.

Liena, having witnessed this technique once before when she met Randy in Meistic Forest, didn't refute his suggestion as she assumed it had something to do with his power acquisition. However, before Brawler Randy could execute his technique, he suddenly felt a jolt in his entire being as he was suddenly encased in an ethereal glow that caused Liena to become alert.

She didn't remember observing such an effect when he used his skill before. Observing his vacant expression as he stared into space, Liena became concerned.

"Hey, are you all right?" She inquired, feeling that Brawler Randy's state was rather strange. His eyes seemed to have lost their light as if he had lost his consciousness while standing.
