THE PERSON OF HER PAST

The wound from the nail that got stuck on her foot had been healed from a long time. There wasn't even a scar left on it but it felt like the nail was still stuck in her foot. The throbbing pain coursed all through her body and she shivered  just remembering it.

She would never forget the wallet that she picked 10 years ago. That wallet allowed her to meet the kindest person she ever encountered after she was thrown out of her own house. She met the little boy who held her hand despite being dirty and smelly. She met the three people who smiled at her and treated her with kindness even though she stole money from them.

On that day, she received a gift that she treasured the most in her life. Wherever she goes, she brings it with her. It was crappy and rusty already but she never once thought of throwing it away.

And ten years later after that meeting, here he was, standing in her kitchen, cooking some food for her to eat. His kindness never changed.
