Daughter of who?!

"What do you mean Skylar is more dangerous than we think?" Her Grace asked. "For all we know, she is a mortal. She doesn't have powers, neither having the ability to be dangerous." Kurai shakes his head, telling his mother what happened just now in the garden.

-

"Hmm....." Her Grace fell silent, unable to think of anything as she never face this kind of incident before. "Mother, what if she isn't a mortal? Maybe her powers are not awaken yet, that's why she doesn't know what she is capable of." Kurai tried explaining. "That could be true, but how do we confirmed that thought?" Kurai says nothing. "I assumed she is still unconscious?" Kurai nods, "Yes, mother. I put a sleeping spell on her, she'll be awake after 5 hours." "Very well, let's not think about it then, wait till she's awake. She had the authority to know, too."

-

Kurai goes back to the room, and was surprised when he saw Skylar standing beside the window, looking at the view outside. "S-skylar?" Skylar turned at his voice, and smiled at him. "Hey, Kurai! I was about to go look for you too, but I guess that you had something to do so I decided to wait for you here." Kurai blinks in disbelief, "How are you awake? You should be unconscious for another 5 hours." Skylar frowned, "What do you mean unconscious? I didn't fall asleep-" Skylar suddenly stopped, as she had thought of something, "Wait....I wasn't in the room just now, I was at the garden, outside. How did I get in here?" Skylar scratch her head, trying to her mind around this. Kurai instinctively think of a lie, "You fell asleep when you were at the garden. When I was looking for you, I saw you asleep leaning on the tree, so I brought you back here." "Ohhh, I see." Skylar stopped thinking about it, but Kurai notices something wrong with her. "What's bothering you, Skylar?" Skylar shakes her head, "Nothing, Kurai." Kurai didn't believe her, so he went forward and grab her shoulders gently, doing so to let Skylar face him. "Tell me, Skylar. I don't want you getting bothered." Skylar flinched, her heart torn into two places, one is to tell him everything, but the other is to just keep it to herself. In the end, she chose not to tell him, she didn't want him to be troubled because of her. "It's really nothing, Kurai. Trust me." Skylar gave a reassuring smile. Even though Kurai knew Skylar was lying, he couldn't bear to force the truth out of her. "Fine, but I'm always here to listen, okay?" "Yeah, sure!"

-

Moments after Kurai left her room, Skylar immediately thought back of her dream. "Was it fake...? But no....it's too real...that feeling....." Skylar started to mumble, unable to forget the scenes and she saw and felt just now. "Can I really be that....powerful?"

-

"Of course you can." The voice rang in her head. Skylar jumped and closed her ears, trying to block out the voice that is in her head. "You can't block me, Skylar. I'm inside your head." Skylar shakes her head, trying hard to ignore the voice. "Get out of my head, get out, get out....." The voice continues, "I can't get out Skylar. Don't forget, I'm you. You can ignore me all you want, but I'll still be here, and in the end you still have to listen to me." Skylar fell silent, trying to block herself in. "Stop resisting Skylar, I am just a voice implanted by your real mother." Skylar got shocked, "My real.... mother?" The voice laughed, "You don't know much about your real identity, do you?" Skylar stuttered, "I...." The voice sighed, "Let me tell you everything, you have to know sooner or later." Skylar hesitates, but reluctantly agree.

"You are the reincarnation of the goddess Apate, daughter of the goddess of night, Nyx."
