Jaeger The Vast

When the brink is not in the ring, in a blink there is a vast communication circuit that conjoins and branches to every Vagants within the Citadel.

"All Assailants who received this voice message will hear different information—" A voice of a raspy young man permeates your ears, the same technique that was used by Ratatoskr on your earlier mission but more on a large scale. "This is Jaeger speaking. C-rank operator Long Leggy, you will be sent to the west frontier and rendezvous with the leader of Moose Squad, Ratatoskr, and receive further instructions from there."

Every personnel received a different command from the same voice simultaneously, as if it was already recorded by that one person or everyone got their own private artificial news bringer to their skull. Then again, if that man with the codename of 'Jaeger' truly did this feat of giving specific messages to thousands of different individuals simultaneously alone, either he is a computer or his head is made up of quantum processors.

'I get to meet with the Moose Squad again!'

It better be getting dispatched to a team of someone familiar in this important crisis than get mixed up with a total stranger with no synchronicity at the mix. Your existence is already abnormal but that doesn't change the fact of how abnormal this world is compared to 12,000 years ago, then again, is this truly your original world?

"Lues!" you say to the crimson devil who just found the sentient cube that was supposed to be your pet, slightly bigger than the last. "What Jaeger told you?"

"We'll be back to the Moose Squad on the west. I already sent some blood scouts and it seems like the Calamities will come in twenty minutes from now." Lues put Goyang on top of her head, glued with her own version of blood manipulation. "Hurry up, this is a great way to feed your artifact."

As each personnel are scrambling about, the hole on the road made by Timoreia has been sealed by a repairing team from other organizations, they are clothed in brown coat with a material device on their back like those akin what Blast's have but instead of chemicals, they are attached with a black magnetic core with some circuits that goes connected into a cube shaped mana crystal.

'The virus vessel can be a great help for analyzing things, they didn't even realize I was peeking at them!'

You couldn't help but to be proud for thinking something this revolutionary

"What are you smiling for?" asked Lues with pure curiosity, considering that you rarely smile in such a way. "Also, you looked rather nonchalant about the situation. A normal person with humanity in them would rather be petrified with those whooping five digit numbers on the Calamity counter. 'Oh no! The world that I know is about to end! Everyone will die! This is horrible!' like that."

Unlike everyone who mingle and stride on the ground, you and Lues fly high in medium height in a laid back manner.

While coming up with a sentence, you're trying to put your Chi of Decidit somewhere more tactical because holding the crystal gourd everywhere just to store your harrowingly liquid artifact and unsheathe them might be a rather of a hassle. "Might be me who is slowly becoming inhumane," you say. "Just can't help but to not bother, much like what I wanted to do. I would rather think about myself first and just strive, just let the troublesome stuff be dealt with by those who want to deal with it."

"That 'flower' is starting to take tools on your mind, if I assume. The more you calculate and dig deeper than what you should, the more your rationality to lean more on logic and practicality, especially for self-gain." Lues then change her posture to her favorite sleeping position in the air whilst gaining momentum to the destination. "Don't beat yourself to it. Power is everything, after all."

"Of course, tell me your plan about enhancing the artifact." Looking at her big grin, you start to think of some possibilities and strike one of the nearest acts she could do. "If it includes using the vast wasteland, then I'll ask for permission from Ratatoskr."

"Aww you read me, that is so sweet."

You parry her sudden flirting, "Foreboding your future shenanigans can't be counted as affection, it was more of me trying to not stress myself if something happens outside of my jurisdiction."

"Such a caring partner~"

You go through the tall gap on the roadblock with many obsidian armored personnel near. It strikes you a wonder of who those securities are and why they are on every entry of the prominent building of this Citadel. Alas, all you could do is keep thinking and guessing, you might want to be more social and ask the people around you instead of cramping your brain to determine those possibly-mundane stuff.

5 portable camps, 70 unknown armed infantry, 10 armed vehicles in the form of landships, and some more individuals with a non Assailant's uniform. More to the right side of your field vision, you find the Ratatoskr currently in rendezvous with a man in a tactical vest, not donning any Vagant's mark. The other Moose Squad's members can be seen to prepare some kind of giant ballista with Blast and Woez working together to make special bolts for the ammunition.

"Miss Ratatoskr, are you sure you want this amount of units?" says the feline with shades. "The east frontline has more than 500 personnel, I don't think that with your squad and the others alone will be able to fend them off."

"Mr. Barjed," Ratatoskr said with a confident expression. "The intel had shown that there was a Megiddo Carmlan sighted from the east."

"I see, no wonder, then who will be the one who does the protocol?"

Both of you arrived to the conversation with a salute. You forgot to report in because of the scary gaze from the tall burly man with cat ears, and because you didn't report in, Lue doesn't either.

"Mr Rajed, meet two of our newest recruits." Ratatoskr gestures to the both of you, saving the awkward situation.

"New recruits with a class of Annihilator and Slayer?" He says after probing his view into your accessories and Lues'. "Is this a sick joke?"

'Yes Mr. Barjed! This is unfair! A new recruit shouldn't be tasked with an important position!'

"The obvious joke in here would probably be you," says Lues, with her iconic frown grin like a croissant when she is agitated. "I don't sense any mana coming from you at all, and yet you're talking like you're on the same height as that missy over there."

'Noooo! Lues you stupid demon! Don't start a fight out of nowhere!'

"Now, now! Let's get along! I'm your Tactician for the east, so nice to meet with both of you again." The moose girl says with a more convincing smile than before before shifting her gaze to the bulky feline. "Mr. Rajed, prepare the M.A.D."
