Chapter 2: Surrounded

She walked slowly holding a firm grip on her flashlight as she approached the truck. She got to the driver's side and shined her light inside. She couldn't see anything. She reached toward her dome light button and striked it with a quick pound of her finger. The shadows lit up in the backseat to reveal nothing was out of place. She breathed deep and grabbed the steering wheel to pull herself back inside the vehicle. She began to lift herself up until a strong grasp grabbed her ankle.

Panic overcame her and she threw herself into the truck hearing a nasty crack of a bone as she did so. She slammed the door and smashed the dome light button off then, locked the doors. She's crying but trying to stay silent hoping and begging that this is a dream. She began pinching herself hoping to wake up, and praying to God it would be over soon if it was.

Everything's quiet...the air becomes a foul smell and she hears something scraping across the road. The noise is intensely elusive and disruptive to the point she can't hear herself think. She can't focus, she's petrified beyond belief, and she finds her emotions to be immersed in an agonizing, unforgiving sense of impediment. She becomes rigid. Unable to move, practically frozen, she felt like a recreant.

The sound intensified and grew louder, presenting itself as a grinding and scraping atrocity. A tumult of foreign shrieks and squeals emerges out of the black surroundings. They grew closer and closer making her heart damn near explode out of her chest. They grew louder and louder becoming practically unbearable to her ears and stomach. She couldn't hold it back anymore and puked up stomach acid in her passenger side floor board.

The noises persisted and were now accommodated with loud thuds of hands smacking her truck. The glass in the truck was fogged over by this point and she was quite taken back by the large unhuman-like hand that left a print on the outside of her passenger side window. "GO AWAY!" she screams but dark horrific laughter is what she recieved in turn to her command.

She finds herself blacking out now. Everything becomes dark and muggy. Colors mixed together, swirling and combining the hues of the world she last got to look at. 'Is this it? Am I dead? What in the world is outside of my truck? I can't be blacking out. No, please! Not now!' Her thoughts began blending together as she tried to make one last stitch effort to stay conscious, however, she failed to do so and became incapacitated...
