Hours after school Cassandra found herself sitting in the library desperately trying to find the book which could help her out on her assignment on brain functioning.
True fact wasn't that there were not enough of biology books instead the problem was there were too many to understand which one to prefer. Cassandra had to call in sick at her work today just in order to complete this assignment but now that she thought about it it was not really going to be that easy to get it done.
The school was almost empty at the current moment and most of the students had already left.
"Ahh" she groaned when she found herself unable to find a book.
"Unlike you people come here to study so if you are not interested into study just avoid coming to school and do not disturb others" a voice exclaimed and she looked towards the guy with her eyes almost expressing her urge to murder him.
He was the reason she was going to miss today's pay, He was the reason she was searching for a biology book in this huge library when she should be walking back home and getting to her work if not just sleeping due to the amount of exhaustion she felt right now, Hell he was the reason why Mrs. Frank despised her now and now he had the audacity to pretend like a victim and throw her words at her.
"What the hell are you doing here" she spat angrily as she saw him lounging on the chair comfortably without a book in his hand, like the only reason he was here in this huge library was to torment her.
"Well the last time I checked you did not own this library" he laughed.
"Whatever" she mumbled As she continued searching through the racks to find a book which wasn't huge enough but could help her with her assignment when his voice interrupted her again and she wanted to storm towards him like a little girl stomping her feet on the ground angrily until she realised how stupid that sounded.
"Midland high is known to have the most notorious library in the entire California and the rate with which you are searching for the book, I highly doubt you will be able to find the required book in the forth coming months, forget the assignment you have to submit tomorrow" he answered.
"Any other suggestions or Commentary your highness, considering the fact that you were the one who got me into this trouble. You did not let me pay attention into the class and kept paying your focus which seemed impossible to me and now the teacher thinks I am the one who is distracting you when the case is truly otherwise" she answered pissed.
"Well you do distract me" he said in the most sultry voice before doing a quick do at her up and down with his eyes and for a moment Cassandra felt like she was completely exposed to his eyes even though she was well covered in her uniform.
Cassandra plaster a fake annoyed expression narrowing her eyes at him even though she could not keep the red from coating her cheeks.
Xavier then very gracefully got up from his place and started walking towards her in a very slow pace as Cassandra tried her best to resist the urge to step back and move away from him in the fear of what might happen to her in his close proximity, she barely trusted herself when he was that close.
The next thing she knew was that she was standing pretty close to him, his eyes looking at her making her stuck at her place as he is slightly bent towards her height. Cassandra couldn't help but be overcomes by the urge to touch his tousled hair, that randomly moved by his sudden bending towards her.
Cassandra could feel a couple of moments passed by and yet she was still stuck at the very place as she was earlier, unable to move a muscle. this was probably the effect none of her boyfriends ever had on her.
Cassandra in her mind was trying to figure out if she had a Masochist trait because she found immense pleasure in this guy even though the only thing he ever did was hurt her. Xavier was still looking at the girl she was occupied in her own little world with extreme adoration.
The only reason Xavier tried his very best to torment this girl was the fact she threw him into a pit of adoration towards her and he could not understand why because he did not remember adoring anyone before. He had never been so helplessly tied to someone as he was to her and he never felt this weird urge to possess someone as he did with this girl.
He was used to desiring girls and being desired by them but he was not used to this feeling of wanting to hide someone from the world and be selfish enough to keep her only for himself. He knew that he was being completely unfair to the girl since it was not her fault that he was so fascinated by her but if making sure that she hates him could drive her away from him then so be it but what he did not realise was the fact that as much as he tried to make her hate himself, he craved her attention.
right now his plan was to have a nice session with Charlotte but he could not find it in himself to walk out and do the deed when he knew that the girl might be struggling to complete her assignment especially when it wasn't even her fault.
Hi enjoyed the childish annoyance on her face and that made him deliberately act like a douche just so he could see the continuation of her annoyance and her little nose swell up in anger as she finally busted out.
"This is the book you need to finish your assignment I have already tagged the pages you should read and underlined the sentences which should be in your assignment to make Mrs. Franks forgive you" Xavier answered handling her the book and started to walk out but not before utter a final statement.
"In this is the favour I am doing for you, Let's see what you can do to repay me back for it" he exclaimed.
"This is not a favour! you were the one who got me into trouble so it was your sheer responsibility" Cassandra growled as walked outside with a smile on his face, He did not remember smiling for years.

When the weekend arrived Cassandra found herself grateful than ever. It had been an eventful week and she was beyond exhausted, this weekend of relaxation was something she needed the most. Even though she was still working on the weekends at least she didn't have to attend the school, that was probably the most exhausting part considering how eventful it was in a negative way.
She had managed to turn in her assignment the previous day Mrs. Frank was pretty shocked by how well she had done in the assignment and appreciated her so even if she did not want it to be counted as a favour from Xavier, it's still was.
She had barely seen her aunt Audrey yesterday, The woman was working harder on the Saturdays and she knew she was barely going to see her today considering the fact that she might be on her early job and then directly go to visit her husband.
Cassandra Leslie dragged herself off the bed, It has been terrible exhausting to manage the part-time work and school at the same time and she couldn't help but wish to take a day off but she had indeed taken a day off the Friday itself, calling a sick leave when she was just trying to finish her extra assignment so she was assigned to work as a replacement for someone else, which meant she would have to work her entire Sunday of at least till six in the evening.
The idea was pretty exhausting but not the worst she had faced. She was glad for the distraction, whenever she was busy it made it easier to forget that her life had turned completely upside down in last one month and her parents have left her in the way worst possible.
Cassandra then walked inside the washroom and finished her daily routine before she got ready into her normal clothes to get to work. After she was done getting ready she skipped downstairs and made herself a sandwich with some orange juice as she sat quietly alone on the dining table sipping and eating with occasional thoughts before she knew it she had to leave for her work and she found herself locking the doors and leaving.
Just when she entered the cafe she was hit with brisk smell of coffee and weirdly enough it calmed down to her nerves.
Almost half of the day passed away uneventful with Cassandra occasionally serving the guests. Sundays were usually the busy days in the cafe apparently people didn't really enjoy staying at home and spent most of the Sundays in cafes and restaurants.
That was not the ritual Cassandra was used to, sunday was the day where she with her mother and father would spend the entire morning dining in the garden and talking about anything and everything from the things that had trouble them throughout the week to the things that made them happy.
After the most relaxing morning on the Sundays they would visit someplace where they could spend together time as a family but these places were not supposed to be high end restaurants instead simple in peaceful places like maybe beside a river.
Cassandra was busy in observing a new world here in California and she realised that the principles laid deep within her by her parents were immensely beautiful. people these days give materialistic things away too much value, she barely saw any principle of family in this huge city but her parents had always taught her the importance of family and how it mattered more than anything and everything in this universe.
She just sometimes found herself wishing that her parents would have thought about the principal is the lead deep within her before they committed the act. Things would have definitely been tough but it least she wouldn't have lost the most important thing in our life.
"You dumb bitch!" Someone's cursed making her look up from her trance of thoughts she was glad that the owner wasn't there because this was probably the hundredth time she was zoning out and Made the owner super pissed, almost to deprive her of her job.
She looked ahead to find Ryan and his group of football players sitting waving their hand at her with a mockery she was pretty sure it was one of them who had scowled at her.
"What can I get you sir?" She asked taking her notepad in her hand.
"How about you get yourself some sense and maybe a new ear ade because we have been shouting for last 15 minutes for someone to attend us and you are idiotic ass was the way to busy in daydreaming" Ryan scowled.
"I apologise for the inconvenience cost to you! so what can I help you?" with she answered mechanically almost like she was used to saying that every now and then like a robot.
The boys gave her a few orders and after an hour of mockery and deliberate bullying they left her to her peace.
The only problem that existed was there was no peace in the universe for her. There were times in instances where all the other things clapped up together and made her forget for a few moments about the tragic incident that had befallen her but every now and then when she looked at herself it was a walking reminder of what all she had lost and how she had been betrayed.
By the evening when the chatter in the cafe had ceased she found herself handling the key to the owner and leaving for home, If she could call it that. Audrey usually came back around eight on Sundays after spending your entire day talking to her husband who would barely reply and she was never really in the mood for discussion as they silently consumed their dinner and parted their ways towards their own room.
When Cassandra finally got back home, The routine of the Sundays were resumed Audrey came back at 8 o'clock told her a few words about how her husband looked better than the last time she saw him even though both of them knew that it was just a pretend and Audrey was fooling yourself after a few words about of enquiry about her school and how everything else was going the two of them parted their ways to their own room.
Cassandra found herself lying in the bed waiting for the misery and the nightmares to consume her, by now she was so used to the nightmares she felt like they felt more real than her current existence and that was probably the only place she could see her parents into.
