Chapter 41 - Revival and Rifts

"Domain Expansion, Myriad Possibilities."

Sachiko used domain expansion out of worry for her mother's life. She sliced the curse into pieces while freeing her mother from its grasp. But before she could heal her, she took her last breath in her domain.

"Mom! No!!! No!!! please not you!!!" Sachiko held her body as she yelled, tears falling onto her cheeks.

Gojo looked at the scene in silence before putting his hand onto her shoulder, in attempt to comfort her first.

"Satoru... I failed.. I swore I would protect her and I thought if I don't talk about her much or don't stay with her, she would be fine and not dragged into my affairs but I was naive, wasn't I?" She sobbed.

"Sachiko..." He tried to say something.

"I'm always messing things up. And whoever gets close to me they suffer the same fate. Whether it was Yumi or my mom, they all ended up getting killed by those damn curses. I could've protected them. I'm strong and those curses weren't even my match yet, they still...."

"Sachiko... Listen to me."

"It's my fault. I could've prevented this. I could've seen this." She said between sobs and it hurt Gojo.

"Sachiko, listen to me first. She was alive when she pulled into your domain, right?"

"Yes, she was." Sachiko gave a small nod.

"Good, now do you remember how you healed Kokichi?"

"I do but he wasn't dead yet when I healed him." Sachiko replied.

"But what did you say you can do in your domain?" Gojo asked her.

"Anything, well theoretically."

"Exactly." Gojo said. "So how about you try it?"

"You..you want me to try revive her? But it's against the laws of nature and.." She paused, "you think I can do that?"

"She died in her domain and your domain is a separate dimension from the outside world where you can make anything happen, isn't it? So even if she died , her soul wasn't necessarily gone yet. You also subconsciously held onto her and wished her to live which might also help in retaining her soul in here." Gojo explained to her. "So, I would try if I were you."

"I understand now. I'll do this." Sachiko gave a firm nod as she rubbed her tears. "I have to."

She had never thought of reviving a human in her domain, much less actually done it. However, she couldn't imagine losing her mother just yet so she slowly started. Surprisingly, it came easy to her as if she had done this a couple times before.

That said, she could only let go of the breath she had been subconsciously holding after her mother opened her eyes again.

"Sachiko?"

Misaki called her name and that was all it took for her to hug her tightly and cried.

"Mom...I thought I lost you."

Misaki just rubbed Sachiko's back as she hugged and sobbed further.

Only when Sachiko had calmed down, she asked, "Sachiko, dear, you're here. And what happened? I thought I died."

Sachiko turned to look at Gojo and then said to her mother, "It's a long story. We'll tell you later , mom."

After that, she got them out of her domain. Misaki was still a bit dazed and couldn't process what was happening ,but fortunately, there were no serious after-affects or something of that sort even after being revived by Sachiko and getting out of her domain. Sachiko heaved a sigh of relief at that. Noticing that, Gojo couldn't help but smiled a bit.

"You did well, sugar." He whispered to her.

Sachiko blushed at the praise.

"We...we still have to explain a lot to her and..umm.. figure out who did this." She stuttered.

"Of course." Gojo said with a grin.

--------------------

"You went too far this time, Geto." It was apparent in her voice that she was furious.

"You're the one who suggested targeting her in the first place." Geto said with a frown.

"I didn't mention killing her." She said, "Forget what I said back then. Leave Nakamura Misaki alone from now on."

"And what if I don't want to. So far, she is that one person we can actually use against Nakamura Sachiko. Like she's the weak point of her."

Just as he finished his words, he noticed the atmosphere had turned chilly. She gave him a piercing stare, then said in a low voice. "If you dare, trust me, I'm going to kill you right at the moment you try."

Geto looked at her in the eyes before snorting, "We'll see."

----------------------

"So, umm...This is Gojo Satoru. He's..." Sachiko paused as she comtemplated if it was fine to introduce Gojo as her teacher. She knew she should be introducing him as her teacher from Jujutsu Tech , but knowing Gojo, he probably wouldn't like that. She shook her head and decided to introduce her as a teacher from Jujutsu Tech. But, Gojo beat her to it.

"I'm a teacher from Jujutsu Tech and Sachiko's boyfriend." He grinned.

'Of course. He's doing it again.' Sachiko groaned mentally before giving Gojo a look which Gojo pretended not to see, again.

Misaki blinked in confusion.

"Excuse me, did you say you...are Sachiko's boyfriend?"

"Oh, yes!" Gojo replied while giving Sachiko a wink. "Didn't she tell you?" He then acted as if he was genuinely surprised by the fact that Misaki didn't know him.

"Satoru..now's not the time?" Sachiko sighed.

Misaki turned to look at Sachiko with a frown.

"We..just started dating like a few weeks ago..." Facing with her mother's frown, Sachiko mumbled.

Misaki studied Gojo for a while before asking,

"You look like you're still in your twenties. How many years are you older than her?" Misaki asked.

"Actually nine. I'm twenty eight years old." Gojo replied.

"Even though nine years age gap is not small , I'm not against it. But if she was hurt because of you, I'm not going to forgive you." Misaki warned Gojo.

"Sounds fair." Gojo said witha nod.

"Mom, please stop. It's not important right now." Sachiko mumbled.

"Okay." Misaki sighed and decided to drop the matter for now."So, do you know what was happening ?"

"Right, I do and actually, it's a long story to explain."

"I'm all ears, Sachiko." Misaki said.

"Well, what you saw was actually called a curse. Curses are things that are born from people's negative emotions and only people with a certain amount of cursed energy can see them. I can see them, too since birth." Sachiko started explaining to her.

"I didn't know. Was it...was it hard for you, Sachiko? That you were seeing things others couldn't." Misaki asked in concern. Having not expected that, Sachiko was taken aback.

"Mom, I hid things from you and I put you in danger. Why?"

"What do you mean you put me in danger?"

"Let's just say some..people don't really like me and they can't directly come for me. So, they resorted to means like this." Sachiko saud, not willing to tell her mom how she was actually targeted by two groups.

"Oh, dear, are you fine? Are you in danger?" Yet, Misaki seemed to worry about Sachiko more than herself.

"Mom, I'm fine. And they targeted you, mom. I don't think I'm the one you should be worried about." Sachiko said.

"What are you talking about? Of course, I'm worried about you. You're my daughter, after all."

"Mom..." Sachiko let out a laugh. "I really love you. So, let me keep you safe, okay? I'm not going to let anything happen to you, again."

"Sachiko." Misaki pulled her into a hug.

Looking at the mother-daughter duo, Gojo felt envy. He wondered if it was what a normal loving family looked like. To Misaki, Sachiko was her dear daughter even if she was powerless. It didn't seem that her love amd care for Sachiko wasn't depending on her strength and for the first time, he wondered what it was like to experience that.

"Right, where was I? Anyway, there are two schools in Japan that teach those who can see curses. I go to the one in Tokyo so that I can learn more about killing those curses." Sachiko continued explaining.

Gojo was amused to hear Sachiko say killing the curses instead of exorcising them. It was like a habit at this point and he didn't really point that out anymore as he found it endearing.

"Like you saved me from that..curse? I didn't really see how you fought it but when I woke up, I thought we were at somewhere else." Misaki said, recalling the events earlier.

"Yeah, but it was an advanced move only a few people can do."

"Then my daughter must be so amazing!" Misaki said with a laugh.

"I am!" Sachiko smiled.

Then, Misaki suddenly recalled how Sachiko introduced Gojo.

"Right, you said you are a teacher from Jujutsu Tech. You...don't happen to be Sachiko's teacher, do you? Coz that would be..."

"I am." Gojo said awkwardly.

"Umm...he actually is." Sachiko said sheepishly.

"You're not serious." Misaki looked at them, unimpressed.

"But we are." Sachiko said.
