Lied

Ayana nodded as she heard the woman's words. She did not show a lot of reaction.

"Just tell me if you have any difficulty in school, dear," Luca's words immediately cause a frown on Ayana's face.

Irene looked at Ayana with a sigh. It seems like Irene was worried for no reason. Luca seemed like a child that just got a new toy and Ayana appeared like she hates Luca with passion. Maybe Luca just found Ayana's stoic expression as a challenge.

Ayana realized that her expression had changed when she noticed Irene's expression. She touches the spot in the middle of her brows, confused why the man's words can easily create a ripple in her world. Her emotion was always stable. Used to. She can manage her emotions and expression. But today, the man makes her lose control just from hearing his words.

"I will, dear husband," Ayana replied, but her words were flat and her expression was stoic, making Luca laugh out loud.

Irene shook her head, looking at their interaction. Luca seems to enjoy teasing the girl.

After breakfast, Irene and Luca went to the Winter family residence. They were together in the car that made Irene finally voice her confusion.

"Where did you go last night?" Irene started the conversation as the car left the castle. She still could not believe Luca's excuse last night. She really couldn't ask more since Luca just went straight to the west tower after that and locked himself there. When he was inside the west tower, no one could get inside without his permission, therefore, Irene had to wait until they were alone in the car.

"I told you that we were making a small trip around the town. Ayana looked so down after the dinner, so I asked the driver to just drive around the town to make her feel better," Luca answered ignorantly, but Irene can see through his lies as she can see the mocking in his eyes.

"You lie. Just answer me truthfully. I can see through all your lies. Did you forget that I am the one who has been taking care of you since you were a child?" Irene said as she kept staring at Luca.

Luca sighed. He seemed reluctant to talk, but with Irene's stare at him intently, he finally gave up.

"To be honest, I was actually trying to seduce her last night. We did not have much time together because she was afraid of me and tried to keep her distance. I thought that the car might be a great place to talk since she couldn't run away."

Irene sighed, "seriously Luca. I never thought that there would come a day where you would do something like this. Seduce her? She would definitely run away for sure if you did not talk in the car."

Luca smiled, "Right. Since the castle and Winter Residence were not that far apart, I told Nico that we will walk around for a bit. I will fail and all my great effort would be in vain if we arrived at the castle before I succeeded in seduce her."

Luca said as he stared at Irene's eyes. Irene saw that her grandson was not lying to her, but the frown in her eyes deepened.

"Why did you need to do that? Seduce her? For what? It will be easier if both of you stay as far as possible from each other," Irene asked with confusion. She had just heard Luca say that he would seduce someone and this just felt like a conversation she would have in her dream.

"I have a plan, but I can't tell you now. Let's talk about this with father later," Luca said as he smirked slyly.

Irene shook her head. She really cannot predict what kind of scheme this kid planned inside his brain. He can even pretend to fake his fondness toward the species he hates the most for the sake of his plan. Maybe he could, but Irene believes that it won't be too long.

"You are free to do anything to her, but please bear this in your mind. You cannot hurt or kill her when you are annoyed at her later. The Luxon family elder is quite close with an influential figure in the Atlan Council. The rumor said that the man is the person behind Ayana's quick transfer process from Zone B to Zona A," Irene reminded Luca after a long pause.

"Really? But I did not see the man at the wedding. He did not seem to care about my little wife," Luca seemed to think about that.

"Still. It doesn't change the fact that she is one of the Luxon. They might use this kind of excuse or reason to blame us if something happens to her."

"I understand, but please don't worry about this. I only want to make her fall in love with me and trust me. I would need everyone's help to achieve this." Luca said, looking at Irene with scheming light in his eyes.

"I hope your father would not rampage when he heard about this? I still remember his face when you were whispering in Ayana's ears last night," Ayana said with a worried expression. She knew Mark would not come around that easily since his hatred toward humans.

"He would agree with this plan. I found something interesting about Ayana."

"I hope your plan won't take a long time since I am sure your father will run amok in hell if you are married to Ayana for more than two years." Irene still looked worried.

Mark agreed to the marriage between Luca and Ayana, but only for two years. Two years because Irene had predicted that in two years, her plan would finalize and they did not need Ayana or District 4 anymore.

Irene looked at Luca who seemed at ease with everything. She believed Luca more than Mark since his grandson was more mature than her son-in-law. She was a bit worried about her, but she would trust him on this matter. Luca was not a child who needed her guidance anymore.

"You don't have to worry about that. I have planned everything perfectly," Luca said, reaching for Irene's hand and patting it, trying to calm her.
