Chapter 16

It was the next day as Felicity was walking down a hallway in the academy, by herself as students were heading to class. She had her schedule in her hands, while looking nervous as we flashback earlier that morning. Isaac was making food for the both of them in his dorm room as Felicity walking in with her uniform on.

"What do you think?" Felicity asked.

"You look good. The tie needs fixing, though. Nervous?" Isaac asked.

"Yes, I've never attended class before. Do they expect students to know everything?" Felicity asked.

"There's a reason why it's called learning, Felicity. Plus, you're a first year, so no. There should be other students the same age as you, who don't know much either. Do you know where to go?" Isaac asked.

"Yes, Ana helped me remember where my homeroom is at." Said Felicity.

"Well, don't let your nervous get the best of you. And text me if you need anything, okay?" Said Isaac as he fixed her tie.

"Uh-huh." Said Felicity as she blushed, while mesmerized by Isaac.

"Felicity, you're food is going to get cold." Said Isaac, handing her a fork.

"Oh! Right!" Felicity chuckled.

We then flash back to the present as Felicity entered her homeroom class as there were students sitting down or walking in. Felicity nerves kicked in more as she started walking like a toy robot, catching the attention of another student behind her.

"Uh, hey, are you okay?" A girl asked.

Felicity turned around and saw a tan skinned girl with wavy black hair and blue highlights. She had hair pin of ocean waves on the left side of her head, while she gave Felicity a warm smile.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, I am. It's my first day. Ever." Said Felicity.

"Oh, new girl, huh? I know that feeling. I was recently transferred her. Brooke Marina." Said Brooke as she held out her hand to Felicity.

"Felicity Murphy. Nice to meet you." Said Felicity.

"Thanks. Nice to meet you too! Do you want to sit with me and my friends?" Brooke asked.

"Oh, I don't want to be a bother." Said Felicity.

"No, you're not bother. The more the merrier, am I right?" Said Brooke as she placed her hand on Felicity's shoulder.

They walked over to Brooke's seat as there two other girl students. One of them was a blonde-haired girl with purple eyes, black and purple beanie and headphones as she was listening to music. The other girl had short white hair, green eyes, wearing a boy's uniform and looked tough as she had earrings only on her right ear.

"Hey, girls. This is Felicity. She's going to be sitting with us." Said Brooke.

"That's cool." Said the white-haired girl as the blonde hair girl nodded.

"Felicity. That's Julia and the one with the headphone's is Sabrina." Said Brooke.

"Well, it's nice to meet you both." Said Felicity as she smiled at them.

"So what are you? If you don't mind me asking." Said Julia asked.

"A little too early to ask that, Julia." Said Brooke.

"What? I'm just curious. I bet you want to know." Julia.

"I'm not going to respond to that." Said Brooke.

"I think you just did." Said Julia.

"Whatever." Said Brooke.

"But to answer your question, I'm a fairy." Said Felicity.

"No wonder you're so cute looking. But I'm an orc." Said Julia.

"Hence her boyish charm. I'm a mermaid. And Sabrina, funny enough, is a witch." Said Brooke.

"I don't get it." Said Felicity.

"Were raised in a sanctuary?" Julia asked.

"Yes, how did you know?" Felicity asked.

"Uh, lucky guess. But it makes sense." Said Julia.

"Teacher…" Said Sabrina as she pointed.

Entering the classroom was Lisa, a knight, as she walked in dress as a teacher. She placed her things down, along with a cup of coffee.

"Good morning, class! If I were you all, I'd be getting ready for class." Said Lisa as Felicity approached her.

"Uh, hello, ma'am." Said Felicity.

"Hello, Ms. Murphy. Merlin told me you were arriving today. Tell me, how much history do you know?" Lisa asked.

"Um, not much, to be honest." Felicity answered.

"A layman as expected. But that's fine. Ms. Arcane." Said Lisa as she looked at Sabrina.

Sabrina didn't hear as Julia nudged her side as she looked up at Julia, while she pointed at Lisa.

"Yes, ma'am?" Sabrina replied as she got up and approached Felicity and Lisa.

"Could you please tutor Ms. Murphy and catch her up to where we are in class. I don't slow down class for everyone. It wouldn't be fair for everyone." Said Lisa.

"Sure, I don't mind." Said Sabrina.

"Good. Head over to library and study there, until you are caught up." Said Lisa.

"Can I go?" Brooke asked as she raised her hand.

"No. Felicity, I will personally quiz you orally, once a week to see your progression, understood?" Said Lisa.

"Uh, y-yes, ma'am." Said Felicity.

"Don't get too nervous. We haven't covered too much. So, you should be done soon. Come back to class, before the bell rings." Said Lisa.

"Yes, ma'am. C'mon." Said Sabrina.

"Coming. Bye, you guys." Said Felicity.

"Bye." Said Brooke as Julia waved.

It was moments later as Felicity was sitting at a table in the library, kicking her feet as she was waiting. Until Sabrina placed a stack of books in front of the Felicity, surprising and startling her as she jumped from her seat.

"It looks like a lot, but these books will help you learn. I find books with pictures help out a lot to understand the world and monster history." Said Sabrina.

"Oh, thanks. Um, how am I supposed to carry all of these?" Felicity asked.

"Oh, right. Well, you can try using a library tablet." Said Sabrina.

"What's that?" Felicity asked.

"This thing. It's a device that they give to everyone. It has all the books in this library stored in its memory. You can have mine. I've already read all of the books here." Said Sabrina as she handed it to Felicity.

"Uhm, thank you." Said Felicity, surprised by her words.

"So, what do you know about the world?" Sabrina asked.

"Only that people live in on it." Said Felicity, adorably.

"Well, you aren't wrong. I guess I should start from the beginning. Hmm, let's see. Do you know what Yggdrasil is?" Sabrina asked.

"Isn't that a giant tree in space?" Felicity asked.

"Yep, you have a lot to learn. In Norse mythology, they spoke of a tree like structure that connected all nine realms, or in modern terms, the nine worlds. Yggdrasil is a cosmic bridge that connects the worlds together. And all nine worlds had different species of living beings. All monsters originate from one world. That's why there are so many different races of monsters throughout the world." Said Sabrina.

"So how do all nine realms coexist?" Felicity asked.

"Well, scientist have found out that all nine worlds are planets of the same size. Which they soon found out that they're all alternate dimensional worlds that exist in the same universal plane. Just think of it as extra planets, but they're invisible and closer than we thought." Said Sabrina.

"Okay, that helps a lot. But that's so amazing. And what are the nine worlds? My…parents told me that were from Alfheim." Said Felicity.

"Hold on. I was getting to that. Hopefully, you know what world we're in." Said Sabrina.

"Uh, earth!" Said Felicity.

"Wrong. But that's what's scientifically called. We're on Midgard, the world of humans. What I'm going to tell you is going to be different from old Nordic tales, because I know modern knowledge of the worlds. Alfheim, the realm of light. Well known where light elves come from. Svartatalheim, the realm of darkness. Were darks elves come from. It's also known as Nidavellir for the dwarves. Vanaheim, the realm of magic. Home to the Vanir. All magical beings come from here. Jotunheim, mistakenly known as the realm of giants. But it actually means realm of the devourers." Said Sabrina.

"Sounds scary." Said Felicity as Sabrina giggled.

"Then there's Niflheim, realm of fog and mist, along with ice. Opposite to that is Muspelheim, a realm of fire. Known to have demons. And then there's Helheim, the realm of spirits and the dead. But that world is forbidden to enter." Said Sabrina.

"Why?" Felicity asked.

"That world's air causes people to see illusions and makes them lose sense of direction, until they fall into madness. And then die." Said Sabrina.

"I prefer to face a devourer. But these words sound fascinating. I can't wait to be able to see them." Said Felicity.

"Well, we're not done yet. We have a lot to get through." Said Sabrina.

Part 2- Felicity and Sabrina were still in the library, but Sabrina pulled out a wand and tapped her wand on the book as the pictures of monsters on the book started moving.

"Even in the beginning of history, monsters and humans have always been fighting. Because we both were alien to each other. Afraid of our differences. This went on for years as the First Hunters rose. Skill at hunting and killing monster. For sport, glory or for money. But as time kept on going, people realized that monster were very similar to humans. Some hunters started to work with monsters, while only killing monster that who were not able to reason with. It was until the rise of the Holy Order was when monsters were branded as, well, monsters. Creatures who have to be killed because they were not creations of god." Said Sabrina.

"At least things have change now. Right?" Felicity asked.

"Um, well, it's a lot better compared to back then. But there are some who don't care. As time kept on going, Knights rose in history as they became the warriors of the Holy Order. It became a powerful organization as the holy church funded their purpose. And because of that, many monsters were hunted down and killed. For example, the witch hunts. The genocide of my people." Said Sabrina.

"And what of the hunters? What did they do?" Felicity asked.

"The hunters were just that. Hunters. The order took their jobs, so there were no need for them. But it was not until during the 1800's as the great hunter himself, Abraham Van Helsing, rose and made a name for himself. He saw that the Holy Order were killing just for their own motivates and needs. So he started the Hunters Organization. A group of men, woman and monster; working together as equals. They protected and helped the people who were not turned an eye to. It's kind of ironic that the hunters were meant to kill, but they ended helping all races." Said Sabrina.

"So why didn't they change it?" Felicity asked.

"It's just stuck I guess. And plus, hunter is a cool sounding name. Time would go on and a lot of stuff happened that we'll get to someday." Said Sabrina.

"So what's the difference between a hunter and a knight?" Felicity asked.

"Well, for one, anyone can be a hunter. No matter where you come from, you have to attend one of these schools across the world. We specialize in many fields of study since we have so many people of different races. This school has infinite knowledge of so much. While Knights are usually rich, stuck up, douchebags, who care about themselves and their family honor and reputation. I've met a few and they always look down on us. Though, they have been letting in more people who aren't of nobility recently." Said Sabrina.

"Like me." Said Lisa.

"AH, Ms. Del Toro!" Sabrina responded, startled.

"I came to check on the progress, but you were bad mouthing at what I am." Said Lisa.

"Sorry, ma'am." Said Sabrina.

"It's okay. I know you mean it towards other knights. I can understand your frustration with them. I've had my fair share." Said Lisa.

"What do you mean? Felicity asked.

"I am not of noble blood or from any rich families. I was born in small pueblo in Mexico. But I was taken in by my mentor Edward Avalon. He saw great potential in me as his student. But as his student, I had to work with other knights and that didn't go so well. Peasant, street trash, common filth, savage. I've heard it all. But I gain their respect, while kick some of their asses. It was all thanks to my mentor." Said Lisa.

"That's so cool!" Said Felicity.

"Hurry up, Sabrina. Class is about to be over. I'll see you at the classroom." Said Lisa as she left.

"She's so cool." Said Felicity.

"Yeah, I kind want to be like her. Besides the knight part." Said Sabrina.

"But thank you for helping me. I really do appreciate it. I'm glad I've been meeting so many nice people." Said Felicity.

"No problem. Marina's taken a liking to you. And she's my friend. So that probably means we'll be hangout more and maybe become friends." Said Sabrina, readying her headphones.

"I would love to be friends!" Said Felicity as she grabbed Sabrina's hands.

"Uh, okay. Turn it down a notch." Said Sabrina.
