Chapter 26

Isaac looked at Ana concerningly, until she calmed down as her face changed back to her usual smile.

"Sorry, just thinking about it makes me furious." Said Ana.

"No, I understand clearly. But Ana…don't do this just for revenge. I won't stop you, since this is something personal. Just be careful." Said Isaac.

"I'm glad I have comrade like you, I. If I wasn't so dedicated to being a hunter, I would definitely date you." Said Ana.

"Um, thanks. I'm flattered." Isaac replied.

"But besides that, I just want to make sure you have all the information of helping the teachers during this Tournament." Said Ana.

"Yeah, got it saved up in here." Said Isaac as he pointed at his device.

"Excellent. And thank you so much. This work would have gone to me and my team if we weren't participating in the games. I hope it's not too much trouble." Said Ana.

"No, don't worry about. My team doesn't mind." Said Isaac.

"Great! I appreciate your help." Said Ana.

"No problem. Anything for a comrade." Said Isaac.

Meanwhile, at the food area of the tournament. There were stands or food truck of different foods as people were lined up or eating at nearby benches or picnic tables. We see Scarlet and her parents sitting together as they were eating crepes together. Scarlet and her mother just took a bite of their food as their taste buds went off.

"Mm! This is so delicious~!" Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"I know. It's too delicious~." Said Scarlet.

"Sasha, I thought you we were planning on cutting down on sugar. Since the doctor said so." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

"It's just this once, Ken. We're with our Scarlet. Let's make these memorable." Said Mrs. O'Donnell as she held her fork to Mr. O'Donnell.

He took a bite from her fork as he blushed from how sweet it was.

"Mm-mm~! We should try to get the recipe from the cook." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

"Ooh, good idea." Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"Speaking of cooks. How's the restaurant going" Scarlet asked.

"We're doing well." Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"Just well? Is something wrong?" Scarlet asked.

"Recently, our appliances have been failing us. So, we had to close up the restaurant. It's just temporary, until we have the money to replace and repair somethings." Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"If it's money you need, I can—" Said Scarlet.

"No, Scarlet. That's your money. We're doing fine. I started work at my old job and your mother is working at a local bakery." Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"Dad, I though you hated that place." Said Scarlet.

"Yes, but the pay is good and I'm willing to deal with it." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

"But weren't they the once who—!" Scarlet responded loudly as she stood up.

But Mr. O'Donnell placed his hand on Scarlet's head as his hand was large compared to her.

"It's okay, Scarlet. Focus on studying and graduating. We'll do fine." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

Scarlet immediately teared up, while looking as she sniffled and nodded her head.

"Okay." Scarlet responded.

"That's my girl." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

"Don't worry, sweetie. We've been through worse. So, cheer up." Said Mrs. O'Donnell.

"Okay." Scarlet replied adorably.

"Now, with that out of the way. Have you meet someone?" Mrs. O'Donnell asked.

"And if so, I'd like to meet this someone." Said Mr. O'Donnell, protectively.

"NO! I haven't met anyone. I've been focus on my studying." Said Scarlet.

"Good. I'm very relieved." Said Mr. O'Donnell.

"Dear, did you finish the crepe all by yourself? What happened to cutting back on the sugar?" Mrs. O'Donnell asked.

"Hey, don't twist my words and use them against me." Said Mr. O'Donnell, while Scarlet giggled.

Meanwhile, we see Franklin walking around the campus, side by side with his mother. They both were silent as Franklin didn't know what to say.

"Um, how was your flight?" Franklin asked.

"It was fine. Thank you for ticket." Said his mother.

But they both fell silent as Franklin couldn't think of anything to talk about.

"Man, what the hell. We've barely talked." Franklin thought to himself.

Franklin looked at his mother as she kept to herself as she was looking at the ground. Until they both heard someone clear their throat as they both stopped. They both looked as they saw in a man in military uniform as he had light skin, brown hair and brown eyes. He looked middle aged as Franklin mother glared at him, but glanced away.

"Hello, Leilani." Said the man.

"Fredrick." Said Leilani.

"Son…" Said Fredrick with arms out.

"Hey, dad. I thought you weren't going to make it?" Said Franklin as he hugged his father.

"I thought so, but it turns out I had free time. How are you?" Fredrick asked.

"I'm doing good. You?" Franklin asked.

"You know, the same routine." Said Fredrick.

"What? Hitting on girls, sleeping with them and leaving them knocked up?" Leilani responded as Franklin didn't know how to react.

"You know me. And let's not forget you were one of those girls." Said Fredrick.

"Yeah, because I thought you were different!" Leilani yelled as she grabbed Fredrick's shirt.

"Hey, hey! Let's not do that hear." Said Franklin as he got in between.

"Let me take a guess. You haven't been able converse with him for more than a minute, huh?" Fredrick asked.

"Like you can, asshole!" Said Leilani.

"Enough! If you two are going to act like this! Then maybe I never should've sent you both those tickets. Excuse me." Said Franklin as he walked away.

"Franklin…" Said Fredrick.

"Franklin, wait!" Said Leilani.

But he ignored them both as they both watched him leave as Leilani glared at Fredrick.

"Oh, don't look at me that way. You started it!" Said Fredrick

"Because I can't stand to look at you!" Leilani yelled.

"Yet, you can talk to me and not to our son." Said Fredrick.

"How can I after what happened to him!? He's not the same Franklin I knew." Said Leilani.

"But he's still a person. And still your son. He maybe not be the same boy we once knew him as, but he's alive right? It's better than having a dead son." Said Fredrick, while putting his hat on and walking away.

Leilani watched him leave as we see Valerie nearby, hiding with Wolt on her shoulder. She turned and saw Franklin, looking down as she quickly made her way to his side.

"Franklin!" Said Valerie.

"Val, hey." Said Franklin with sad tone.

"Are you hungry by any chance?" Valerie asked.

"Uh, now that you mentioned it. I could use a pick me up. Food usual works." Said Franklin.

"Great! You craving for anything?" Valerie asked.

"Not really. I'll eat anything." Said Franklin.

Valerie giggled, until she walked close to Franklin's side. She then reached out to his hand and held it as that made Franklin feel better. We then see Violet and the dark skinned woman in the girls dorm room as they were drinking blood together at a table. They both looked happy as the woman was sitting properly and was composed.

"So how is everyone, Adele?" Violet asked.

"Everyone is fine. Marie-Anne always asks for you. I'd tell her how you are, but you rarely call." Said Adele.

"Yeah, sorry about that. I've been busy. But how's bunic?" Violet asked.

"Your grandfather's…he's been acting different lately." Said Adele.

"Different? What's wrong?" Violet asked concerningly.

"He's losing his will to live again." Said Adele.

"Again…what's causing it?" Violet asked.

"He wants to have more child with me." Said Adele.

"W-What!? Jeez, Adele. Just give him what he wants. You are married." Said Violet.

"It's far complicated than that, Viola! He made me promise to never bare him another child, because of what happened with his first son. And recently, nothing makes him happy. Only being with me and seeing our family lefts his spirits. But he's always constantly working with hunters and vampiric society." Said Adele.

"Oh. But do you want to have child with him?" Violet asked.

"Of course! You're grandfather is such loving man. Especially in bed." Said Adele, blushing.

"Ah! La-la-la-la! I don't want to hear things that will scar me!" Violet shouted, while covering her ears.

"(Chuckles) Forgive me. I get carried away just thinking about him. But don't worry about your grandfather, Viola. He'll pull through. He always does." Said Adele.

"Okay. Just no bedroom talk, okay? I think I lost my appetite. I'll come back to it, though." Said Violet as she slide the glass away.

"But how are you? Have you had luck finding you a young man?" Adele asked.

"No man can handle a total package as myself." Said Violet.

"So no?" Adele replied.

"If you want to be blunt, then yeah." Said Violet.

"Don't worry, dear. You'll find yourself one." Said Adele.

"Better said than done." Said Violet.

"That's why I said it." Said Adele.

Meanwhile, we see Jasper with his sister and his friend as they were walking together. They were passing by the shops, while guys were looking at Jasper's sister as Jasper and her friend looked annoyed.

"Did you have to wear revealing clothes, Alejandra? Does she dress up like this all the time, Hector?" Jasper asked.

"What? It's cute. Why? You don't like it?" Alejandra asked.

"I like it." Hector replied.

"No asked you, Hector." Said Jasper.

"Stop being so overprotective, Jas. Come on, let's have some fun! We did come all the way here to see you." Said Alejandra.

"I appreciate. But wear this jacket." Said Jasper as he held his to her.

"Will it stop you from complaining?" Alejandra asked, annoyed.

"You know it." Said Jasper.

"Ugh, fine." Said Alejandra as she grabbed it.

"Aw, man." Hector said to himself.

"I heard that." Said Jasper.

She put the jacket on as it was bit big for her as they continued to walk.

"Are ma and pa doing good?" Jasper asked.

"Yeah. And they wanted me to tell you sorry that they couldn't come. You know how their job is." Said Alejandra.

"Oh, I know. But have they been getting my money?" Jasper asked.

"Yeah. It's been helping them a lot." Said Alejandra.

"Good. And you Hector? Are those guys still bullying you?" Jasper asked.

"Not as much as before." Said Alejandra.

"I get into a couple of fights. But you know me. I can take on anyone." Said Hector, looking prideful.

"Really? Want to take me on?" Jasper asked.

"L-Like I'm going to fight you." Said Hector.

"What happened to that confidence, Hector?" Said Alejandra.

"Whatever." Hector responded, embarrassed.

"And mom? Is she doing better?" Jasper asked.

"She sometimes gets depressed when she thinks about him. You should call her whenever you can. That way she won't worry about you too." Said Alejandra.

"I'll call them later today." Said Jasper.

"So where's your team? From what you've said. They sound like a lot of fun." Said Alejandra.

"They're with their families." Said Jasper.

"They treating you good here?" Hector asked.

"Better…they treat me like family." Jasper.
