Chapter 28

It was moments later as we see Headmaster Tremblay standing in front of Headmaster Montgomery as they were going to spar. Moments earlier, they all drew their names out of a bowl to see who would fight first as Merlin pulled out the names.

"Ah, Alastair and…Clair! You both will be sparring first." Said Merlin.

"As long as it's not with you. This should be fun, don't you agree, Clair?" Said Alistair.

"Yes, since I get to fight a knight." Said Clair.

"It's you and me Jorge." Said Merlin.

"C-Can we do redraw?" Jorge asked.

But to the present, Clair stood calmly with her hands behind her back as Alistair held his hand out to Faye, one of his students. She made a sword made of magic as he spun it in his hands.

"The spar will last at a minute and a half!" Said Merlin.

"I'll try to go easy on you, Clair." Said Alistair.

"Such a gentleman. But I'm no lady, Alastair. I'm a hunter." Said Clair as she pulled down her sleeves.

Alastair quickly bolted to Clair, thrusting his baton at her. But Clair side stepped away from his sword, surprising him. Clair's arms immediately started to surge with lightning as she palm struck Alastair, knocking him back. He slid a couple of yards back as he chuckled, while readying his sword.

"Lightning magic?" Said Iris.

"No, it can't be. She would have to be a mage or wizard to be able to do that." Said Isaac.

"Well, you're right. Headmaster Tremblay is one of the few people in the world to have a contract with a legendary creature. And a powerful one, whose name should be obvious." Said Abe.

"The Thunder Bird…I'm honored that you're using that power against me." Said Alastair.

"Don't flatter yourself. I'm only using 5% since I don't want to kill you." Said Clair.

"C'mon show everyone what you can do. And I'll even summon my Sacred Weapon." Said Alastair.

Clair smirked as she then burst with lightning as her eyes turned white. Lightning surged out of her eyes and body, while the lightning formed the Thunder Bird as it screeched and flapped its wings. Alastair chuckled as he pulled up his sleeves and held out his hand. Suddenly, a green axe appeared to his hand, while Alastair's skin turned green. He snapped his fingers as he was covered in the Green Knight armor. Armor that was made of plant and wood as his eyes glowed green. The crowd watched in awe as they both stood ready.

"The Green Knights Axe. A weapon given to Sir Gawain by the Green Knight himself." Said Abe.

"You sure know a lot about the Headmasters." Said Isaac.

"Uh, yeah. I like learning about well-known hunters and knights." Said Abe.

Clair then quickly fired a lightning bolt at Alastair as he quickly, but barely dodged the bolt. Alastair hurled his axe at Clair as she easily dodged it. But Alastair called it back to his hand as it flew backwards, towards the back of her head. Clair ducked down as she looked up as Alastair had already caught his axe, jumped up and was already swinging down at her. Clair rolled out of the way as the axe hit the ground. Clair swung her foot at him, but he blocked her foot with his left arm.

"Don't think your speed can help you." Said Alastair.

He gripped her foot, but Clair charged up her lightning. But his plant armor was absorbing lightning as it the armor was frying. But Alastair quickly hurled her away, while Clair stopped herself as she was floating in the air. Alastair charged towards her as Clair fired consecutive bolts of lightning as Alastair evaded around or jumped over the bolts. But Clair then bolted into Alastair, tackling him as he slid back. Clair then started to hit Alastair with lightning punches and kicks as his armor was taking a beating. He tried striking back, but Clair would easily dodged his axe. Until she bolted around to his back, charging her fist with lightning. She punched him in the back as the lightning made a powerful thunderous wave that broke Alastair's armor as parts of it crack and the back broke open. Alastair chuckled, while Clair stood ready and cocky as she had a smirk on her face.

"Is that all, Alastair?" Clair asked.

"No, I have a few tricks up my sleeve." Said Alastair.

Suddenly, wooden vined popped out of the ground as they quickly wrapped around Clair's body as Alastair swung at full speed. But Clair became lightning as bolted out of the vines. Alastair knew she would do that as he turned around, while still swinging as Clair was right behind, ready to hit him with another thunder punch until…

"Time!" Merlin shouted.

Alastair and Clair stopped as they were about to hit each other. But they both back away as Clair powered down, while Alastair's skins changed back to normal. They both then shook hands out of good sportsmanship.

"Almost had me there." Said Alastair.

"Please, I was holding back." Said Clair.

But their shaking started to take too long as they were gripping each other's hands too hard and neither of them were letting up.

"Stop it you two." Said Merlin.

It was moments later as we see Merlin in front of Jorge. Their students cheered them on as Jorge looked nervous, while moving his golden bracelet.

"Nervous to face me, Jorge?" Merlin asked.

"Of course. It's my first year as headmaster and now I'm facing you. I don't think I'm capable of fending against you, sir." Said Jorge.

"There's a reason why they chose you to be headmaster at San Teresa, Jorge. Show me why they chose you. Do let my reputation frightened you." Said Merlin as he stood ready.

"Tu puedes, hermano! (You can do it, brother!)" Said Enrique, leader of San Teresa.

Jorge's nervous look then turned into determine look as his clenched his hands. His golden bracelets then glowed, while his irises became golden as he stood ready. Jorge then bolted into Merlin's face in an instant, with his fist already swinging towards him. Merlin was surprised, but he teleported out of the way. Jorge swung as his swing was so strong that he made the wind blow strongly. Merlin aimed his right at Jorge as multiple orbs of magic appeared and fired at him. Jorge did nothing as he took the hits as they did nothing to him. Merlin then smirked as Jorge dashed up to him again and swung his fist. But his fist hit a magic barrier, until Jorge noticed magic circles where his feet were as he couldn't move. Merlin took a step forward and snapped his fingers, releasing a powerful magical explosion that knocked Jorge away. But he quickly recovered, but immediately saw magic spears raining down towards him. Jorge quickly evaded around all of them, until he grabbed one of them. He hurled it at Merlin as he stopped right in front of his face. Jorge bolted at Merlin again as he held his fist ready. It was burning strongly like a mini sun as Merlin fortified his magic barrier. Jorge swung with all his might, smashing his fist into Merlin's barrier. Jorge was giving it all he had as Merlin quickly held his hands out giving his barrier more defensive power. Jorge then pushed more, yelling out as his fist broke through Merlin's barrier. Everyone was amazed by his power as Jorge swung his fist at Merlin's face, until Merlin's barrier broke and shattered like glass. Jorge was confused as well as everyone else. Jorge then heard clapping as he quickly turned around as Merlin appeared out of thin air as he was sitting a stone seat he made.

"You did good…against an illusion clone." Said Merlin.

Merlin then tapped his staff on the ground as multiple Merlin clones surrounded Jorge. They all had different spells cast, while original Merlin was still sitting on his stone chair. But Jorge kept his fighting stance, not willing to give up. Jorge then started to have green and red feathers grow on his body as his teeth became sharp like fangs.

"Time!" Said Clair.

Merlin immediately called of his clones as they all disappeared, while Jorge powered down and looked normal again. Merlin approached him with his hand out as Jorge grabbed his hand and shook it. Merlin healed him and fixed his clothes in a second with his magic.

"You fought well, Jorge. You'll make a great headmaster. As long as you keep that determination. You had me a little frightened back there." Said Merlin.

"Thank you. I thought I had you. Until it was all an illusion. But that wasn't going to stop me." Said Jorge.

"I can tell. But I should tell you. In my perceptive…you were randomly swing the air." Merlin stifled, while trying not to laugh.

"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, sir." Said Jorge, embarrassed.

"No need to call me sir, Jorge. Merlin is fine. What did you think everyone!?" Merlin shouted to the audience.

They all cheered loudly as everyone enjoyed the sparring as all headmasters stood proudly together. It would be later as it was the afternoon and the whole gang were together at the lair.

"That was so awesome! I can't wait to see what the students can do." Said Violet.

"Hell yeah! Just watching that fight got me hyped." Said Marcus.

"And to think Merlin was pretty much toying with the headmaster of San Teresa." Said Scarlet.

"Was anyone else's mind just blown away by that?" Garry asked.

"Yeah, man. I was like…WHAT!?" Franklin responded.

"I know, right?" Said Jasper.

"Yep." Iris replied.

"Glad you all had a good time. Did you spend enough time with your families?" Isaac asked.

"Yes, sir!" Said Violet.

"But thanks Isaac for giving us time." Said Scarlet.

"Yeah, appreciate it, boss." Said Marcus.

"No need, guys. But you all know what you all have to do tomorrow, right?" Said Isaac.

"Yeah." Everyone responded, unenthusiastic.

"Good. Because there have been some changes." Said Isaac.

"And now you're telling us!?" Violet responded.

"Wait, what's different now?" Garry asked.

"Some of you are still security. But there's one thing that needs to be filled in. By any chance, do one of you want to be the school's mascot?" Isaac asked.

"Sal, the Salem Cat?" Franklin responded.

"I want to!" Garry shouted with his hand up.

"Why? And seriously?" Marcus asked.

"C'mon, waving to people and basking in the heat." Said Garry.

"Is that reptile part of you talking?" Scarlet asked.

"As well as the fish part." Said Garry.

"Great, now I don't have to force someone into the suit." Said Isaac.

"Were you seriously going to make one us do it?" Said Marcus.

"You're also going to need a partner to watch over that area with you. Because that suit isn't the best to move in. Iris, you want to?" Isaac asked.

"Sure." Iris replied.

"Alright, it's going to be me and you, Iris!" Said Garry with his hand up for a high five.

"Yeah." Iris replied as she high fived him.

"Great, and the rest of you are just doing security. Patrol around and make sure to call the others whenever you take your break. That way someone can look after you area." Said Isaac.

"Sure thing, boss. Also…who's the girl?" Violet asked as she pointed at Abe as he was patiently waiting with them.

"Uh, I'm a guy. And my name is Abe." Said Abe.

"Could've fooled me." Said Marcus.

"Holy crap! I totally thought you were a girl. Sorry." Violet replied.

"Abe is Ana's younger brother. He's going to be sticking around me for a while." Said Isaac.

"She's going to beat you up for calling him a girl." Said Marcus to Violet.

"What!? No! Shut up, Marcus!" Said Violet.

"What for?" Scarlet asked.

"Uh, mentoring. Ana thought it was a good idea for me to learn under one of the school's best hunters." Said Abe.

"Uh, yeah. But get going guys. Enjoy your only free day." Said Isaac.

"We will." Said Violet as they left.

"Nice knowing you." Said Scarlet as they all left.

"Why did you lie?" Isaac asked.

"I'm not as skill as my sister, but I'm not dumb, Isaac. I know about the deaths of my relatives. And that Ana asked you to look after me." Said Abe.

"I see. But I never thought you were dumb. Just lacking." Said Isaac.

"A bit blunt of you. But if it is possible…could you teach how to be a better hunter? Ana did once recommended me to ask you. I…I don't want to stand idly by as others get hurt. Could you please, Isaac?" Abe asked, beggingly.
