Another morning of her 30s...
Athena woke up to the sound of her alarm clock.
She usually wakes up at 6 in the morning except on Sundays of course when she sleeps like a log and has lunch for breakfast..
After washing up and eating her typical 'toast and coffee' breakfast, she leaves for her studio at exactly 9:30 am. Her design studio "Athena and designs" is a 15 minute drive away from her home.
She opened up her own studio four years ago after working hard for years since the college days. Her hard work had paid off and she was doing great now. She usually designed wedding dresses and customized apparels in the New York City.
Her designs had been noticed by a popular influencer almost one year after her design studio opened and her studio had been doing quite well since then.
She would reach her office and clean up the mess in her cabin from the day before because she would be too tired to clean up before leaving. Having another cup of coffee with her staff of 3 after they came in at 10 while discussing the days' work was another daily routine of her life.
Meeting clients , making sketches, creating dresses, altering them according to their clients was how her usual day looked like.
Her work usually ended by 6 in the evening except on days when unexpected situations came up and working overtime would be inevitable. She had a convertible couch bed in her cabin for such days.
On other days, she would leave the studio and go either to her own house or at Jessica's .
There was nothing much to her social life than Jess and Eric.
"Is socializing even fun when you've got not much time for even yourself after working all day? " is what Athena said every time her mother scolded her for always staying at home and having a ring on her finger at her age.
Just like every other day she went to her studio that day too and came back home tired.
She laid down on the sofa and turned on the TV.
'Why aren't there any good programs these days? ' she complained to herself , switching the channels.
Something finally caught her attention!
It was some sort of dating show. "Are you ready for love? " is what it read.
Reading the name of the show made her feel lonely suddenly.
Athena was usually the type of person who loved being by herself , still sometimes just sometimes she wished she had someone by her side and that she wouldn't have to come back tired to an empty house... However, she would rather stay at home then go out, talk to new people and date.
Athena loved her peaceful life. And after not dating for so long since her fling in college that was soon over once she started working, she thought dating would be a hassle now.
She switched off the TV and went to to sleep.
Another "normal day" was waiting for her. Or maybe not.
